Studen 100,
Have a read of the following:

Do you still feel happy about having a PIN with your credit card?0 -
Mmm yes. We Brits love to moan about everything don't we. Even more our newspapers like to moan about stuff so we can all read, have a little chuckle at their little jokes, and say to each other, "oh, isn't it a terrible idea".
But in fact it's not all that bad. After a while we all stop moaning about stuff (ask your grandma about decimalisation) and this time next year we'll forget we ever had this discussion. Instead we'll be saying, 'Oh, wasn't it awful when you used to have to sign whenever you bought something? I mean, why did it take us so long to get a decent system in place?'
Yeah, so quit moaning and get on with life. Bring on the PINs.student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -

Methinks if I have a PIN I have to be responsible for something that does nothing for me.
It's widely acknowledge that Chip & PIN will do nothing to deter ID Theft and we can expect robbery at cash points to increase.
I ask again why would anyone in their right mind want a PIN with a credit card?0 -
recently got a capital one credit card and tried to change the pin! I tried all nine cash machines in my town and none of them will let me. Spoke to Capital One who have told me that only Nat West, Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds TSB will let me change my pin!
Sadly none of them are anywhere near me! So what do I do? Should I complain to Capital One and cancel my card! or just learn the number! ???0 -
Do you have a Tesco near you? I changed my Cap1 pin at a Tesco cashpoint. Of course Tesco Personal Finance is part owned by Royal Bank of Scotland, so I guess that's why it worked.
I hope this helps,

Ah Tesco my place of worship employement!
Will try that! Thank-you! ;D0 -
The Chip & PIN website states that you should be able to change your PIN at most UK cash machines. I'm not sure why Capital One cards should be so fussy!0

Banking Code 10.6 PINs
We will tell you about our systems to allow you to choose or change your PIN. This should make it easier for you to remember.

I already did complain! They just said that I would only be able to change it at ATMs operated by NatWest, Hallifax and Bank of Scotland!0 -
My card has a chip which doesn't work. I keep telephoning the Halifax about it but they just keep sending me notification of the pin ??? Crazy.0
