New Guide Discussion: Beat the impending ESTA charge

I spent over an hour getting nowhere on IE - switched to Firefox as suggested above and managed to get 3 applications done in around an hour! Once you actually get the application process underway, it isn't too bad - just need to keep refreshing. It does remember what you have filled in - my big worry was I would need to re-type everything each time.

Am kicking myself for having forgotten about this - it would probably only have taken around 15 mins to do all the applications if I did it a few weeks ago!

Started at 2230 (I use Firefox by Default).....all 4 completed by 2315.

5Live News said at 2300 that "the site has crashed with an hour to go before the deadline"......not sure but isn't there 6 hours to go as I note that the forms are dated / timestamped in Eastern Daylight Time.

Having unfortunately only seen this thread and link on facebook this evening, I think I have run out of time! I've been trying to get onto their website for the last hour and have had no luck!

Just my luck seeing as I've decided that I will be heading stateside in February!

I would say keep going - remember Eastern Time is UK -5 hours

Am just glad i made 3 applications on Monday, done within 7 mins. My friend tried Tuesday, site was down! She applied again at 1:00 am and beat the deadline!!

From today you have to pay for ESTA, so the guide has been updated to reflect this. This thread is now closed but if you'd like to continue discussing this permit to travel, please head over to this new you must get ESTA before heading to the US thread
