Unknown.
Its unknown what information appears on the screens (even the privacy impact assessments that DHS produce has most of it blanked out). Its unknown if the previous refusal has more information on the screen, or if its just a big "off to secondary".
Maybe due to the frequency of your visits they wanted a word. Hopefully the 2009 notes will now be on the system so you don't have to go to secondary again.0 -

Applied online for myself on 9th Aug & mine was instantly OKed. Did wife's next. They said they would get back to me on hers within 72 hours & I have still not heard anything nearly a month later. She applied for one in 2008 & was granted no problems & has no criminal convictions whatsoever! Anyone else experienced delays? Tempted to just do it again.0

Our passports are due to expire in about 8 months but i was going to apply for these for later next year, will it matter if we're issued with new passports or would we have to re apply for an ESTA anyway with a new passport as the number will be different?0

I know that this question has been answered but I thought I'd add something more to help others who haven't done their ESTA form yet.
The only parts of the ESTA form that are mandatory are those marked with a red asterisk *.;)
So............leave the destination, flights, your telephone number, your email address etc blank if you want to.............because none of these questions have the red asterisk as mandatory questions.
I've just completed my ESTA in less than a minute and had Authorization Approved..............it was very easy to complete the form.
Thanks to Martin and MSE for helping me to get the ESTA free (for 2 years) by beating the deadline.:T

If you apply now, it will not expire for two years and you won't pay for it up until the 8th of September.0

DO NOT USE use esta@checkandsend.co.uk They are one of the imposter agencies charging a fee OF £9.95 for esta appplication when they are neither authorised no recognised by the US embassy.
I am of the opinion that they should be reported to the police and the UK passport office because they are collecting peoples personal details fraudulently which can be used to identity fraud.0
