Sunglasses-Shop.co.uk £50 voucher for £17.50

Hi there,
Sunglasses-shop.co.uk have been in touch and have issued the following statement:
“The promotion with My City Deal has been far more successful than we
could have hoped for. Our stock is being wiped out, and our suppliers
have put their prices up. When items sell out we adjust the cost
prices on our stock system to reflect the price we pay and this
updates the website. In Jan all the Ray-Ban and Oakley went up by on
average 10% and our stock that was meant to last the year has been
wiped out.
This has changed many prices on our website.
We are trying to fix these now to the prices that they were at.
If you can let your readers know if they email
support@sunglassesshop.com we will honour any prices, but we will try
and get them all changed to what they were yesterday.”
Hope this helps,
MSE Deborah

OMG:mad: thats so unfair. It says in the T&c's that the promo would go live from midday. I waited in til midday, and even blew out £10 for working as a dinner lady so i wouldnt miss out on the saving for sunglasses for me and my partner. and to add insult to injury, i have only recieved confermation of payment on only 1 of the sunglasses. Even tho i paid them both within minutes of each other.0 -

Someone doesn't need glasses!
If what the guy from the sunglasses shop said is true and they had 10000 people take up the offer then someone is sitting there with £175 K without one pair of sunglasses even being dispatched.
Nice way to get a bit of cashflow.0 -
I missed this deal, so if anyone has any vouchers they'd like to offload please PM me as I'd like to buy 2. Thanks.0

hmmmm, this just arrived by email:Dear xxxxxxxx
Thank you for your recent order using the mycitydeal promotional voucher.
Due to the high volume of orders our usual delivery time of next working day will not be offered. We currently expect to fulfil 80% of mycitydeal orders within 7 working days as advertised. We will not be able to expedite any orders and they are strictly processed on a first-come-first-served basis. If stock sells out, which is likely on popular products, you will be notified as soon as possible. We will aim to provide you with an ETA within 2 working days, if you do not receive an ETA then goods will be delivered in our standard time of 3-10 working days. If a sale frame sells out then we will offer an alternative product as reduced to clear products will not be re-ordered, again you will be notified as soon as possible.
Your order number is xxxxxxxxx and this should be quoted in any correspondence with us. If you need to contact us please email us on <

Bollox......
I have to agree (though maybe I would not use that word!), and wouldn't it be a coincidence if Want the Look also had this problem with their suppliers increasing their prices!
What concerns me more is that the MSE Team seem to be backing the retailer on this. It really does feel like a scam ...Gone ... or have I?0
