    Hi,

I wanted to post this anonymously *just in case* but I am a member here for a long time now, pretty disgusted at their action here but this can be confirmed by MSE staff I'm sure.

To check the price of the sunglasses originally in google enter the full page address from the address bar on the live site that is showing at the moment, paste this into google and search for it, click "cached" link next to the page for the top result.

Here is an example for Oakley (found by searching for http://www.sunglasses-shop.co.uk/oakley-sunglasses.asp in google):

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:i2gEppbWchUJ:www.sunglasses-shop.co.uk/oakley-sunglasses.asp+http://www.sunglasses-shop.co.uk/oakley-sunglasses.asp&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&lr=lang_en

(note: I cannot link these due to new user restrictions, you will have to remove all spaces)

This will likely not last for long a few more hours as the cache looks to update daily, I have saved as many cached pages as I can but the cache is likely to update soon. It's not perfect but definitely better than nothing.

I will also be cross posting so apologies again but I think people deserve to know this:A

    Regards,

    Anon.

Can we just order at the prices shown and then contact support for a refund (mine up £3 from when i looked yesterday ) or do we have to have the price adjusted first ..dont want to miss out but its a lame trick they pulled and £3 is better in my pocket than theirs
  • No idea on that I'm afraid, just trying to help out with what I do know, good luck!

So what happens if Sunglasses-shop cant fulfill our order and only tell us after the 7days period with MyCityDeal? Will we still be able to refund our £17.5, or settle for either another pair or with £17.5 less in our pockets?

The delivery charge was made clear when the offer was outlined so the price you would be paying was £21.50 + £50 off the advertised price + the difference - if any.

The glasses I wanted were advertised at £88. That made the total price £59.50 delivered which was £10 less than available on Ebay. However later on this morning, when the offer kicked in, the price shot up to £94 making the total £65.50 delivered.

Saving me a grand total of £4.50. Whopee bloody do. It's not worth it.

Judging by other comments on here and the Internet businesses that work with Mycitydeal have a habit of upping the price when the offer kicks in.

The way they do that stinks and as a result I would never use Mycitydeal or The Sunglasses shop EVER again and I will be telling everyone I know to avoid them both as shoddy, deceptive, lying companies that cannot be trusted.

As per my post earlier if you google the glasses and scroll down to the sunglass shop you will find "cashed" written in blue. if you click that it should bring up the previous page from a couple days ago.

If you have trouble just private pm me and i'll try and find it for you

Found a cached page but google is telling me it is from 1720 today. Does that mean they have updated it or is there a way of getting yesterdays page

I was looking at the Oakley fives (not square) in either brown sugar or polished black

They are now 58.50 and 67.50 respectively. I think they were £51 and £58 ish but not to sure
  • I ordered a pair of these vouchers yesterday, and was absolutely appalled when I saw that the prices had increased. This seems to me like a bait-and-switch type tactic, are there any laws covering this type of practice?

I grabbed the fives squared in grey smoke (non polarized), they were £55.25 yesterday and £58.50 this morning if that helps anyone.
