Sunglasses_Shop wrote: »Dear MyCityDeal Sunglasses Shop promotion customers,
Just a quick update to let you know that so far today our team have processed 2800 orders and dispatched 1500 orders and the night is still young!
We are extremely committed to providing you with your designer sunglasses as quickly as possible, as well as replying to your email queries (today we were providing a personal response about 3hrs after receiving an email).
Again, many thanks for your custom.
Kind regards,

P.S. Below is our earlier post.
Dear MyCityDeal participants,
Firstly, many thanks for your participation in this promotion. Please be assured that through participating in this you are sure to get a fantastic deal on authentic products from the world's leading designers.
However, please accept our apologies that there was some confusion around the changes to our usual excellent, market-leading customer service, which includes next day free delivery in the UK.
The reason for this was that this promotion with MyCityDeal was designed to be a small scale test to check the financial viability of the Sunglasses Shop doing a wider promotion in the future, as the viability for us of working with MyCityDeal depends upon how customers behave in redeeming the vouchers, for example, do they buy a £50 product with their voucher or do they use the voucher to upgrade their usual budget. To ensure that the Sunglasses Shop did not lose money in running this test promotion we had to change our usual T&Cs and charge for delivery for products bought with these vouchers, lengthen the delivery time to 7 days, as well as raise the prices of certain brands of sunglasses (but only to levels still below the RRP).
As the promotion offered through MyCityDeal was clearly very attractive we received a much larger response than we had anticipated, we have had problems in providing our usual excellent levels of customer service, for which we take responsibility and apologies to you.
The Sunglasses Shop team is now working extremely hard to fulfil your orders, which you can be assured that we will do.
Sunglasses Shop remains committed to providing fantastic designer eyewear with free next day UK delivery in protective packaging, expert advice through our market leading celebrity trend monitoring, a secure website and all at great value prices.
We thank you for your custom and hope you love wearing your new designer sunglasses this summer.
Yours sincerely,
Daniel Puddick
CEO
Mr Puddick, Do you think it is right and fair to raise your prices AFTER selling X000s of vouchers.
Are you going to amend your prices on the website back to how they were
This whole thing is still a shambles0 -
I assume Daniel Puddick you haven't asked permisison to post given your other employee unless its still you got post/s removed today for doing same
Notwithstanding that passed off as a customer a month before that, every ethical company, not0 -
I think Mr Puddick is doing a good job at trying to help us customers. Much better than the BS the CEO of iwantthelook.com has been saying with regards to the dermatoligca price hikes! Im gonna give the sunglasses shop the benefit of the doubt0

Why star the whole thing with mycity is a complete farce0

Sunglasses Shop reported for not getting permisison to post on forums as company rep
MSE TEAM PERMISSION: CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS
Company representatives are actively encouraged to post on the forum to provide good customer service to MoneySavers. They should not be using the opportunity to tout for business. We need to know in order to legitimise it. Where permission has been given for a company/person to specifically post there will be a note from the MSE Team. If someone has posted claiming to have been given permission but this has not been followed by a MSE team note please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Im gonna play devils advocate fot a minute and actually think they have been caught short on the demand, and genuinely are doing all they can to process the orders as quickly as possible and the increase in price (for whatever reason) has been an error of judgement.
However, as a web developer who has created a few online shops myself in the past (one actually selling sunglasses and ski goggles!) i know that a simple few lines of maths written in JavaScript, ASP, or PHP etc etc and you could change the price across the board easily in a matter of minutes and with little or no downtime.0 -
I see sunglasses shop is doing damage limitation exercise
Sorry but your treated customers as idiots, think you need to be treated with the contempt your deserve0 -
Even though the promotion hasn't gone as smoothly as I am sure SunglassesShop would have liked, we want to reassure everyone here that this isn't a scam.
I'm so glad to hear it.
That means I'll have the money back in my bank account by next Tuesday or so, after sending this email to MyCityDeals:
____
You are serious in suggesting these problems were not foreseen?
I can see what you mean - one of the items I was looking at has more than doubled in price
Please refund my £35

im gonna have to agree with you there. I was very cross earlier, but now can see that everything is being done that can be. they are NOT ignoring us, but they are responding to e-mails and keeping in contact. (although they need to sort there prices out)
im gonna sit back and see what happens. theres no point in complaining anymore as they know the problem and they know how we all feel. This is no longer a "grabbit" but more of a "vent" thread.
I also think that some people have been rude to the MSE's on here. They are TRYING to help, and advise. I know that this promotion was placed in the newsletter, but how where they to know this company were going to rise there prices.0 -

Hi,
I sent an email at 10.33 today, and another at 13.32, and have not had a reply to either.
Please send me a private message so you can personally sort this disaster out for me. I am prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt and appreciate how much this surge is demand has disrupted your usual service.
I just need my voucher resetting so I can place an order on your website.
Regards,
Miles.0
