  • See my 1055 post on 7 October about reporting this lot to the Metropolitan Police.
    I have now received a Crime Reference Number (CRN) and they are apparently looking into the matter.
    I have also written to my credit card company with full details of what has gone on and am awaiting a reply - should they get a bit 'iffy', I reckon having a CRN might carry a bit of weight!

    I e-mailed SunCar on Sunday 17th, informing them that I had put the Metropolitan Police onto them and lo and behold I actually got a reply yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    OK, it is a bit waffly, is difficult to make sense of and the English is awful (well, they are apparently Latvian!!), but I have copied it below:

    Dear Client,
    Accept our apologies for the delay of our reply.
    We have been encountering problems with our system management, that have partly blocked our ability to provide prompt refunds.
    In order to receive a refund in the given situation of shortcomings regarding payment types
    , please contact the Bank or Credit Card company operating your remittances at the time the transfer took place.
    By making an application of reclamation -securities term for the right of a party to collect money or securities from the party on the other side of the transaction if irregularities in settlement are discovered,
    on the given amount charged by our company.
    We have made an agreement with our Bank and will accept the necessary paperwork from our side.
    The given process will include time consumption from your side, but it’s the most effective way to provide that the refund will take place in the nearest future.

    It is basically telling me to get a refund from my credit card company, but at least it shows that they are reading their e-mails!!!

    Same experience here means nothing I have submitted a report to watchdog suggest as many people as possible do the same to remove them from internet trading?

    That's fine for all the people who have paid by credit card - myself included but what about everyone who has paid by debit card of paypal!!

    We still need to stop them or they will set up again and defraud us all again under another name - I can't believe they have got away with so much money and nobody in authority is doing anything to stop them!

    I've contacted Watchdog twice but urge all people who have been scammed to contact them. Remember they've had our money for months so we should not forget that!!

    THEY ARE STILL OFFERING CAR HIRE ON THEIR WEBSITE!!!!

    Anyone who has used a VISA debit or electron card does have a comeback. They should demand a VISA chargeback from their bank. You need to apply within 120 days.

  • If you unfortunately use this company they will probably take your money and not provide any service. Forget writing to them or emailing as they never reply.
    Contact your bank and ask them to "chargeback" (visa debit). This will refund your money with 45 days. My bank Nationwide told me they are finding this company are responsible for many complaints. All have been charged back from their bank in Riga.
    In short this company is a bunch of crooks
  • After reading Mickbells review it is the same thing as i have done I also have a crime reference number and should get some feed back after a month.
    I have a feeling not much will be done as they appear to think its a bank problem and my banks fraud department said its the first time they have heard about this scam. It seems to me nobody cares about the little people which is why these low down scum bags get away with these scams.
    Every person scammed should contact the police and the banks fraud departments to put pressure on them to find a solution to these scams

    Hi, we have used it in Bulgaria- Sofia airport meet and greet - no problems! All prices final. Very good service. Wish you good luck.

    Now I need a car to/from Stansted airport. Any suggestions please?

    Lin I totally agree I am in the process of submitting a reclamation through Barclays but have reported this company(s) to Watchdog please everyone who has had issues do the same these scammers need to be removed from trading on the web!! I have also submitted a report to trading standards.
  • Firstly, agree with everyone. This company is a scam but what shocks me is they can get away with it. Nobody from Consumer direct (trading standards), The Police and even the credit card company does anything about them. They just go on trading!!

    I'm a little confused about getting my bank to chargeback. Can this be done with a Visa debit card ?

    Has anyone taken them to the small claims court yet ?

    Yes you can make a reclamation even if you paid by debit card you need to do this within 120 days. Contact your bank's FRAUD Dept not the main customer services. I was told by Barclays they couldn't do anything but have just spoken to their Fraud Dept and they are sending me reclamation forms on the basis of non receipt of paid services. Visa debit cards are covered the same as credit cards. Good luck.
    And please report them to WATCHDOG.
