DH getting pulled by police! A lot?

If it happened too often or even frequently I would think about making a comment but I'd rather have Plod on my side. Now if I was always in the same car, being pulled up by the same Plod, I'd let it happen twice and then the third time I'd report it to his superiors unless he had some outbreak of World War III style excuse for the third time.0

Police have no need to give a reason for why they stopped you, they can talk to anyone. Equally, you don't have to stay with them unless you're under arrest.
Seb, are you saying, well you have actually, that you can be stopped at anytime and for no reason by the police?.
Surely they must have some justification for pulling a car over other than it is the only one on the road at that time of day or night????
I used to get a whole load of this hassle many years back, during both miners strikes mainly as we are in the Notts/derbys EX coalfields. We would be out every Fri/Sat/Sun in the very early hours going fishing. not uncommon to get pulled 3 times in a 30 mile journey back then.
Still do the same thing but mainly one up in the car, have no issues nowadays. must be because I'm older, although I just do not see the stripies we used to do.
I think it's down to simple economics, the cameras get the dodgy cars, the coppers are all in the canteen or doing paperwork or planning their overtime:eek:. Otherwise waiting at the 24hr McDonalds.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

I've been stopped 3 times. Each time I've asked why. Each time they have seemed to have a valid-ish reason so I've let them get on with it.Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0

Yes, exactly that Bri. It's always been maintained that Police should be able to speak to anyone at anytime even if that involves stopping a car the person's driving to do so.
Justification comes in when it comes to stop and search. This needs to be justfied and PACE adheared to.
It's best practice to explain to the person stopped why they've been stopped as it just makes thinks easier and, using your example, 3 up in a car at a strange time is always going to attract attention from the fuzz.....Infact, I'd be worried if it didn't.
The difference is, If the officer has only stopped you and you are not under arrest there is no requirement for you to stop and talk back. Unfortunately, under the serious organised crime act if an officer is investigating an offence and is unable to obtain details of the suspect then it is possible you'd be arrested in order to obtain them..... and that means many really silly offences like silly road traffic offences, even speeding or not wearing a seatbelt.0 -
i was pulled in my dads rover 218sd turbo M reg 192 times in one year, out of those 92% of them was by the same police officer. i produced everytime complained after the 5th time TBH i think my complaint made it worse in the end a solicitor and meeting with the sarg' and the officer soon sorted things out.0

Hmmmm, I wouldn't let your insurers know that, unless your dad got pulled over 292 times,
;)

If you try to be a clever ar5e when they stop you, they'll keep on doing it just because of that.
I had a manager who thought he was above the law and better than everyone else, just because he had a few people who call him "boss".
He got pulled over by the police one morning (speeding warning), gave them a load of attitude and arguing with them and so they pulled him over every single day for weeks until he "adjusted" his attitude.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I used to have a boss like that, I never heard of him getting pulled but he did used to pay people to take his speeding points, he would cover any fine and pay the person taking the points £1000 for each point.
These were all from the cameras that catch you speeding.0
