problem is I'm doing a lot more cooking from scratch these days (over the past 2 years really), but no-one in the house can carve a beef, pork or gammon joint to save their lives -- and as for slicing HM bread so it'll go into the toaster without burning thinner parts of a slice :rolleyes2Cheryl0

I'm down south and there's no electric slicer listed either. I can't carve gammon joints with a normal knife. But have one of those electric carving knives - lovely nice neat slices with that (but still some are a bit on the wonky side).
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
butter the bread before you slice it and then hold the loaf under your arm to slice. That is the os way.0

you've not seen me and knives..... and I don't want to butter first if toasting it either
don't think hubby could even attempt to hold/slice that way though (health issues), and wouldn't want my teenage son trying it as he's almost as bad as me :Cheryl0 -

I love browsing the Lehman's site! They do ship internationally... probably very expensive, though.I want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.0 -
