(I collect elder grand-daughter from a friend of daughter's who runs her part way to school in the car -- but as she's on her way to work I like to make sure I'm there well ahead of them!)Cheryl0 -
If you do buy from the US bear in mind you will get stung for customs duties on top and they are high!! Also they don't tell you at the time, you get a bill later from Fedex or whoever
I wanted a big galvanised boiler too, for bottling fruit but I couldn't get one anywhere in the Uk and couldn't find one on the internet. I got one in France they sell them in all the supermarkets at this time of year plus they also stock them in DIY stores. It goes under various names Cuiseur, Bouilleur, cadron. It has a slot in the lid for a thermometer which you have to buy separately.
hope this helps anyone near enough to go for day trips to France, I realise it's not much use to those living further awayIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
If your watching the tv, or on the computer, try and adjust the brightness on the screen. This might save you 50% of the energy that you use, and you won't be straining your eyes in the process!0

Hi
For those fans of British Thermals they are offering 10% of their thermals, code SEPT182. I used it with their budget mens long sleeved T-shirts 6 for 30 pounds and budget womens 6 for 30 pound which came to 54 pounds which meant free p&p as well since order was over 50 pounds. So that's us warm for the next 3 or 4 years. Good investment:D0 -
I saw thermals the other day...I think it was in M&S as I recall the displays being about chest height or lower :rotfl::rotfl: They were in boxes (like the ones they sell bras in) in the ladies underwear section I think
I should start writing these things down when I see them

You should easily be able to adjust brightness on laptop-press Fn (beside Ctrl & windows key) and usually F5 (but whichever F key has a picture of a sun and a minus sign)
easy peasy! (usually- I know some laptops may be different) :beer:0 -

My electric slicer is one of the few things I'd replace straight away if it broke. We could never slice bread or meat properly until I got one, you can also stretch things a bit further if it's sliced properly. We had a joint of pork on Sunday, I cut thick slices for lunch and then thinly sliced the rest for sandwiches.
Got a Lidl one - brilliantDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0
