In order to improve the thread, why not take your own advicewhy don’t people just stick to topic of the thread.
I'll start.
This artiicle predicts that house prices are to stagnate throughout the year.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

Maybe abuse is the wrong word but the below is unnecessary
As are some of the other personal comments. why don’t people just stick to topic of the thread.
Carol more than gives back what she receives, and good on her :T'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

There is no need to edit text or headlines for your own benefit. They generally are found out within a couple of posts anyway.
Read the full article, understand both sides of the discussion, both the pro's and the con's
There's no point in whispering that "prices are to rise in the first half of the year" before shouting " there will be falls in the second half of the year" before returning to whispering "meaning a likely stagnation of prices throughout the year".
If your open and honest and can interpret the full information, it leads to a better understanding and more knowledgable debate.
Many of Hamish's articles are no different to carolt. They are both at different extremes when it comes to their beliefs. The same thing applies though and I dont see any of you making the same comments to him0 -

Is that not what you just did above?

Hamish threads tend to be factual, like it or not'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. I don't recall hamish having used personal abuse in the form of the 'mummy' statements made by carolt. I agree that he is of the other extreme from carolt and that he pushes his message as hard, but I don't see him wreck his own threads by utilising off-topic abuse.
If you look back at this thread, it was shaping up nicely to the usual HPC/HPI debate until carolt personalised it with the unnecessary 'mummy' abuse. I think there are extremes in both the 'bear' and 'bull' gang that the rest of us need to distance ourselves. In your case Emy and other so-called 'bears', I fully appreciate your need to defend carolt's position on house prices but I never understand why this should also include defending her as a person. I might agree that immigration has gotten out of control in this country, but I certainly wouldn't be defending the BNP. I guess I'll never understand the gang mentality on here, but it's a shame we can't get rid of it because until we do, debates such as this will always be ruined before they get a chance to start."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -

I don't recall where Hamish, posts deliberately incorrect titles, twisted to say something that is not reflected in the article.
If you have found some, please feel free to point it out as people have dome on this thread and highlight the actual statements.
Carol on the other hand has even had mods in her time requesting that she correct her subject title
Again, trying to get back on topic.
What do people here think about rightmove as a general index?
How accurate are their previous predictions?
Do people understand the difference between asking prices and actual sold prices?:wall:
