Pretty much any make of car you buy will come with a negative (and often unfounded) streotype attached to it so its pointless worrying about it.

True, I've had a Celica for 7 years and now just bought a Tigra CC and I'm a 6'4'' bloke and I've never worked as a hairdresser.

I'e got a 2003 plate 330 clubsport. I love it! This is my 3rd BMW (all E46's) and I think I will go for another one next time. Either that or a newer model (E90/2) 3 series.

The engines are superb, lots of power and very smooth delivery. They will happily do 200k miles without missing a beat. There are no untoward rattles. They're just really well made cars.

How anyone can compare a Skoda to a BMW is beyond me. They're totaly different leagues of cars. Plus a 1 series is the very bottom of the BMW range, whereas I would say an Octavia is quite high up the Skoda range.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

That all hinges from Clarkson and he said about audi drivers being cocks.

The rest of us who arent sheep following the rest of the flock know you get !!!!! in all sorts of cars.

Whilst this is true, there are certain types of cars that appeal to certain types of people (or in the case of company cars, get foisted onto certain types of people), and thus there is often a nugget of truth in the generalisations, especially in the less common brands where any deviation from the normal distribution of driver types will be more noticeable.
