If your a UW Landline Customer and call 0845 numbers be careful you dont run up an unexpected bill. As your probaly aware Utility Warehouse followed BT and others in making 0845 calls inclusive/free in their landline phone call bundles, but now they have done an about term and reintroduced charges for 0845 calls.

I cant find the tariff for these 0845 calls on their site.

    gas annual qoutation 215.71
    electric per month 34.04
gas per month 17.98 plus 3.oo membership
is this good value can some one find me better 52.02 pounds a month !
whats the best deal with no contract and and no internet deals paper one's are easier for her . Thanks ps london region

    Thats easy,

Gas with Ebico on a monthly DD will cost £235
Electric with Npower on the Football saver tariff will cost £383

Total cost over the year £618 and you will get a £45 football league voucher.

No internet, no contract on the above deals.

Or if you prefer your Gas and Electric dual fuel, you could go for E-on Saveonline (paper billing available) for about £3 per year more than UW however you would earn Tesco clubcard points worth more than that making it a better deal if you shop in Tesco.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

    That's easy to debunk :p

    1. Same price as UW including the club fee. Which means any other service that is taken is the 'base' price as the club fee is included with the gas price which is already the joint cheapest in the marketplace in this instance. Granted another £12/yr if you want 12 MONTHLY paper bills, AFAIK no other company does this and if they did certainly not as cheaply as UW in this example.

    2. This figure includes a £42.50 'discount' that is paid anuually in arrears. You leave before the 12 month is up, you miss out on £42.50. Leave before then and the equivalent yearly price would be higher than the equivalnet UW price. (plus you probably lose the £45 football league voucher, inidentally. Can't be arrissed to check)**

    3. What if she shops in Asda? :D 3% discount on her bill, not alleged 3x 'deals'. Plus, Eon grant no discount on the final bill so no matter how long you are a customer there's *always* a cancellation fee, it's just that they (and obviously you judging by this post?) don't seem to see it as such. A bit like the npower annual discount paid in arrears? A cancellation fee in effect.
unless you're mightily lucky it's going to be more than the £3/yr UW costs you (and that includes 12 monthly paper bills per year!)
As your post has highlighted only too well, it's a minefield out there. :)

** My god, just how big a minefield is this?? Here's npower's T&Cs with regards to a customer taking 'electric only' on the football saver tariff you mention:
Electricity-only customers can switch to npower's Football Saver 2 tariff provided they are not on mains gas supply.

Even more bad news - the £45 football league voucher is only given to dual fuel customers:
£45 voucher redeemable at any official Football League club shop: To qualify you must enter into a residential contract with npower for electricity and gas on our football saver 2 tariff between 15/06/10 and 30/12/10 and pay for both fuels by monthly or quarterly direct debit. Offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn, suspended or amended at any time. There is no cash alternative. Vouchers are subject to issuer’s and other relevant terms and conditions. Only available to new customers switching to npower. All new customers will be deemed to have accepted, and be bound by, these terms and conditions. npower reserves the right to substitute the vouchers for other items of equal or greater value. npower accepts no liability for undelivered, lost, mislaid or delayed vouchers. Delivery of the vouchers will be made within 28 days of your supply start date for your second fuel.

    Time for a re-think?

As you would say, another post with nothing to do with UW! :p Have you got any prove about the above allegation yet, or is it still a unfounded?

Saw Martin on Daybreak this morning ( yes I am the viewer), he said he had expected Npower and EON to announce price rises last Friday but were probably put off by the Ofgem enquiry.
So I'd anticipate that Npower will increase their UW tarrifs in the near future.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Who asked you to spot when Carmine returns? What is to expose? And we do have board guides who's job it is to monitor these threads and act against spam and abuse.
