The "true cost" is the amount that comes out of my bank account. How is the amount coming out of my bank account not true?

Can you find how I can get all of those things for £70 please?

Or are we still dealing with bluster and rhetoric because we refuse to pay this and other websites to figure favourably?

As a follow on from phebe3 and beezlebozo ... I am currently tearing my hair re Utility Warehouse. :( I owe them for ONE WEEK's minimal use of gas & electricity from Nov/Dec last year. I phoned them immediately with all the readings - and heard no more ... until they began to bombard me with Debt Collection threats (from their own in-house agency, I assume). I have phoned twice and emailed - to no effect. 'Customer service is our pride and priority' is their message - but NOT their deed. 'We'll send you a bill' they say, but nothing arrives. How on earth can any sane person run a business in this way?

Is there a Utility Warehouse person out there who can put me in touch with someone who can sort this out, please?
    Nice to save.

The best person to assist would be the distributor who you signed up with in the first place.

Salesmen handle customer service queries

In any case it sounds from the posters comments that they moved into a property with UW in situ, and switched away sharpish.

Sadly (in more ways than one) I inherited Utility Warehouse when I bought the house. :(
    Nice to save.
  • I rented my propety out to go back to Indonesia because my sister had cancer. While I was away the letting agent changed tenents and the property was empty for just over a month

I came back a few weeks ago to a bundle of lettters from a nasty peace of work called |Michelle Brittain, who apparently is their debt collecter which went from
    1.
    give us the money £22.00

2.If you dont give us the money £22.00

    3. this is a final demand

we are going to take out a county court judgement aagainst you so you will no longer be able to get credit.

we will make an application to your employer for attachment of earnings

seizure of your assets by a county cout baliff

a charge will be taken on your property

significant legal costs and interest becoming payable by you

all this in the space of a month when I was out of the country by a company that I have never had anything to do with.

When I told the lovely Michelle that I thought this action was outragious and they were behaving like 'BANDITS' she said you know this call is lbeing recorded. My response was good and I hope you play it back to somebody you are so rude.

when I asked how she had my new address she said we go to land registry to track down debters

AND ALL FOR £22.00 a dept I had no knowledge about and in the course of 4 weeks. I was going to stay 2 more weeks in Indonesia ..........good job I didnt or I would have arrived back to an empty house

WARNING I WOULD NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY WITH A BARGE POLE
  • The other thing I would like to say is that the debt collection agency does not have any staff. It is usually a recorded message saying they will get back to you within 24 hours.

after phoning for four days and leaving messages and nobody getting back to me I finally did speak to the lovely Michelle:eek: who is probably the only person they have there .............she manages to send out nasty letters but never answers the phone

The mother of a parent at my kid's school has got me to sign up with this company. Been nothing but hassle so far and wished I had never bothered.

    Anyone else got any experience?

Some of my friends swear by UW but all the comments on here are negative. Does anyone apart from selling members speak up for them?

Have you read Martin's initial post? Bear in mind that there are now some 30,000 UW 'salesmen'.

UW salesmen should declare that they sell the product - many don't. Or like Meeper above, have to be reminded.
