Your supplier is only legally required to take a meter reading every 2 years. It's up to you to provide all other readings if you don't want your bill to be estimated.0
-
Its always worth reading your own meters regularly and submitting meter readings say once a month or quarterly, that way you don't get a huge shock. Never rely on estimates and also low direct debt payments to get you hooked onto a new supplier. I always read my meters and record readings into a database to show weekly usage for comparisons.0

Ah, OK thanks guys. I will make sure to do that from now on.0

At last the truth is revealed UW is one of the best energy suppliers.

Regular readers will appreciate that 'penryhn''s post above about the 'truth' is irony in the case of UW.
With 30,000 plus UW salesmen, and their families, all with a vested interest, UW always perform well in any 'reader's survey. As Martin tactfully states in the opening post of this thread:Unlike most energy companies and resellers Utility Warehouse operates by network marketing which means its customers are encouraged to sell on the product to their friends and they get commission for it.
This tends to mean it does well on feedback charts, as customers have a vested interest, and many of them are evangelical about the firm – and sometimes over claim.0 -
The truth is out there.

5 Stars for price/value for money - look up the cost for your supply on any comparison website.
At average consumption in my Yorkshire area, Ebico's VARIABLE RATE works out £86 more expensive than UW's FIXED TILL APRIL 2018 tariff and they got 4 stars! Explain that one.I think you may need to look up the distinction between PRICE and VALUE FOR MONEY. Google makes this sort of thing very easy to be fair...

ebico, as I'm sure you know, have a unique business model, and are completely uncompetitive on price if you use more than a tiny amount of energy.0 -

Ecotricity's variable rate is also more expensive than UW's Fixed to April 2018 tariff and they got 5 stars for Price/Value For Money, Explain that one then.
To be fair UW also have a unique business model as well. Monthly PAPER billing, ebay cashback. card cashback. everything on one bill etc etc.0
