It's called sales skills training. Happens all the time in all walks of life.
Difficulty is we expect to get sales talk from a sales rep.

Not from a friend/relative who you have brainwashed to sell your products to us because we are nice soft targets who don't expect to be tricked by your "sales skills".

We remember seeing how reps are taught to sell to their mates by asking them to help them to "practice" their presentation - when the whole idea was to sign the friend up at the end of the "practice".

We can get an insight still - they have another performer whipping up the disciples at a rally on video delivering his "mantra of persistence" which keeps him going as a UW rep. That certainly gets them off their feet!

So, the message of persistency doesn't work for you Quentin? The individual in the video you linked built a fantastic business by unquestioning focus, belief, drive and passion. He wanted to build a better future for himself and his family. He tried to get other people to understand that they too could have what he had.

Only in the UK could one person's story of how the struggled to make a better life for himself and his family be seen as something bad in any way. Shame on you for condemning someone trying to improve their lot in life.

Virtually every sales organisation in the world has speakers, motivational training, "word tracks", or whatever. I still never understand why you and others like you seek to hold down those who strive to get ahead. You must be a Labour voter.

    What is the relevance?

The UW teach their reps to hound anyone who votes Labour then?

    Are your rallies political too?

    What's the thinking there?

The man in question is now dead, so perhaps we should not comment further.

Quite. And the business that he built continues to generate income for his family after his passing. An inspirational guy who left us far too early.

And in response to Quentin's last comment, I put the Labour thing in on purpose for the sole purpose of seeing whether you would pick up on that at the expense of addressing the relevant points. I see you remained true to form of trying to avoid any actual discussion and shying away from difficult subjects when you are clearly in the wrong.

Has it ever occurred to you that this is a money saving website and your glorification of salesmen - obviously very good salesmen considering the product they pedal - earning huge incomes, only do so by getting un-informed customers to pay way over the odds.

Obviously to make big bucks from UW products it is necessary to have recruited loads of 'junior salesmen' and so on down the pyramid. They are encouraged to sell to their friends and family who presumably trust them.

Incidentally what points of yours has Quentin avoided? As far as I can make out, your point is that you can get rich using the selling techniques taught in the Billy Graham style conventions.

I have been a customer for 4 years. I don't pay "over the odds" for anything. I currently have gas, electricity, phone, fibre broadband, two mobile phones and a pocket wireless router and I pay less than £100 per month in total for all of it.

If you can explain how that is "over the odds" and let me know where I can get all of that cheaper, I would be pleased to hear it.

Oh, and customer service in the UK that answers calls in less than a minute pretty much every time.

    Look forward to it.

And he avoided the points about the creditable aims of trying to make a better life for the speaker and his family. Striving to achieve. Focussed on the Labour point rather than praise the effort to change lives.

    .
This is just out and out false and misleading advertising and brings the company you represent into disrepute.

(Unless you can show us the figures and consumption etc)

Were it true that UW supplies everything for under £100/month then we would all be queuing up to get it and there would be no need for any discussion anywhere on finding the cheapest utilities/broadband/landline etc.

But you are probably thinking MSE readers are like your friends/relatives and won't question anything you claim on behalf of Uw!

No wonder uw reps are only allowed to post in this thread. But that doesn't mean they can mislead us in the thread

Excuse me - it isn't false at all. On what basis do you call me a liar?

I assume then from your response that you can't find anywhere cheaper for all of that?
