Excellent point - albeit if you went back over the many pages in the thread it would need to be renamed with all the other names my 'opponent' has used.

It really would be nice if we could discuss gas and electricity prices on a gas and electricity thread; but, for obvious reasons the 'UW lot' are not keen.

It does seem like you have defeated many people throughout this thread... Though Millicent does seem to be as unrelenting as yourself. As maz said unstoppable force meets immovable object

I bet if you met in real life, you and MBS would be bessie mates :)

    Thank you.

The problem is that there are many thousands of UW salesmen, some of whom have relentlessly spammed this thread with nonsense ranging from exaggeration to downright lies about UW prices - many admittedly are so enamoured of their employer that they simply regurgitate the sales patter they have been taught.

Unless someone states some simple facts about UW gas and electricity prices, they would have a free hand to dupe people.

    P.S.
Modesty compels me to say that some of the 'many people I have defeated' would be Millicent in the different names he has used on this forum.;)

Strangely, I am aware that share prices can go up and down.

    Nice, isn't it?

I genuinely thought the SP would retreat today in early trading but it seems to be powering ahead relentlessly. Market cap. now up to £1.3 billion (on just 1.5% share of the market!!). FTSE 100 company in the making. Incredible British success story, really.

.....If you and Quentin think BT are bad value - sobeit. You raised telecoms as a diversion from their gas and electricity prices and I merely stated exactly the package and price I pay BT - which I think is excellent value.......

How come I'm now embroiled in this??

I have never commented on BT v UW! Nor said BT is "bad value"!

The only connection between BT and UW and me is that recently a BT rep has taken a leaf out of the behaviour of some of the UW reps who come here and used MSE to mislead, and I took up the cudgel to point this out.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What relevance is BT's value on this thread anyway?

And how come UW reps are now using this thread to tell us how well their shares are doing (and neglected to tell us they were the top faller in their sector on Friday, and third top faller on the LSE, down 4.49%)!

(Though cannot explain how their energy double gold "guarantee" of saving 5% isn't just more marketing nonsense their reps can misquote to their gullible friends and family when signing them up)

Millicent brought you into play in Post #3124
PPS have you seen what your fellow UW hater Quentin thinks of both your (actually his now former) telecoms supplier?

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...777477&page=21

I quite agree that BT have nothing to do with this issue - but it is his standard diversionary tactic to move the discussion away from UW's very high gas and electricity prices.

As we all know UW's Double Gold tariff with it's guarantee for gas/electricity to be 5% cheaper is just a farce, and right up their with their equally discredited Triple Value Guarantee.

However I suppose it is understandable that on a Money Saving Website, on a gas and electricity board, in a thread on UW, the last thing the UW 'enthusiasts' want to discuss is gas and electricity prices.

So come along UW salesmen one and all, let us have your views on UW's gas and electricity prices and in particular their 'wonderful' double gold tariff that guarantees to be at least 5%cheaper than ???? - yet manages to be one of the most expensive gas and electricity tariffs on the market.

Whats all this shouting we'll have no trouble here.
Will no one think of all the long suffering NPower customers who will shortly find themselves with UW.
Its all creating a very bad impression.:D

Embarrassing comprehension skills again, penrhyn. What happened to you, penrhyn  ? You've even gotten rubbish at wumming. Gone right down in my estimation (still above the terrible tag team though but only just :D). I see Quention got the PM. My point is Cardew and Quentin have for years been suggesting UW are not to be trusted and now we learn that Quentin WAS, like Cardew still is, a BT customer all along (he has never ever admitted to using any particular utility supplier on here even when asked directly). And what happens when he tries to escape their clutches (probably on a long min contract term, eh?). This is how he describes BT's behaviour:

When leaving without penalty under the get out clause expect this one too:

I got a voicetext asking me to ring them to discuss termination fees.

I did respond to find it was another "dedicated" retention dept., unaware of the CEO's office arrangements, but happy to insist I would have to pay leaving fees, plus my new company wouldn't be able to have my phone number!

Just more lies/scare tactics. (My refund is already in the bank, and my new phone company confirmed my number is safe, and that others have reported experiencing this dirty trick tactic)
Would YOU trust this pair to tell you what companies are to be trusted and what companies aren't? I mean, having to involve the CEO's office when trying to get out penalty free?? What the actual ^&^%? It's actually as hilarious as it is embarrassing.. Maybe it would be a good idea next time to look a for a company that doesn't impose min term contracts, has a guaranteed UK-based call centre and is STILL way cheaper than BT? Just a thought.

Note: more on BT; still no comment on UW's gas and electricity charges!
