I didn't raise the issue of phone/broadband charges(BT or otherwise) - I simply was talking about gas/electricity.
You raised it and tried your usual goading and it backfired - as it normally does when you jump in.
If you want to raise the issue of BT charges then go ahead - there is a forum for that company.
I have stated what an excellent deal I have(seeing as you asked!!) with BT and how silly I would be to go to UW for gas and electricity and spend £512 extra on their Double Gold tariff0 -

But, you see, as you already know, I have phone, broadband and mobile only. And you have very expensive telecoms with a company that scored the lowest of all the companies in the recent Which satisfaction survey and a company that your old mucker Quentin seemingly now hates ('Just more lies/scare tactics' - Quentin's appraisal of his attempt to get out of BT).. It's all a bit embarrassing for you isn't it? You are only as good as the company you keep....;)
PS And you keep insisting on stating you would be crazy to go to UW for gas and electricity when we are talking about (or in my case attempting to engage in sensible debate) phone/broadband. It's about as subtle as an air raid tbh. But, sadly, not in any way unusual Cardew behaviour.
The free CS number and cancelling of membership fees has put you into a bit of a tailspin, hasn't it? But kudos for staying in the thread (I think).0 -

Strangely, I am aware that share prices can go up and down.

You seem to have ignored the fact that I posted this on 08 Nov(post #3095) enquiring about UW Double Gold tariff and their 'guarantee'.Can any UW salesperson explain the latest tariffs from UW?
Nobody has even attempted to explain away that misleading guarantee or make an excuse for their stupidly high gas and electricity prices.
If you and Quentin think BT are bad value - sobeit. You raised telecoms as a diversion from their gas and electricity prices and I merely stated exactly the package and price I pay BT - which I think is excellent value.
I also pointed out that, with my consumption, UW's latest 'Double Gold' tariff(you know the one that guarantees to be 5% cheaper etc etc!!) would be £512pa more than my present tariff. I note you are not very keen to comment on that aspect. Discuss Gas and electricity prices on a Money Saving Website board about err- Gas and Electricity - whatever next!
Instead you want to talk about your opinion of BT - I wonder why.
Incidentally, you and some of the other UW enthusiasts on MSE have crowed about UW's share price soaring for years. Why, on a money saving website, is that good news for customers? Over the years whilst their share price has risen, their gas and electricity prices have remained consistently some of the most expensive on the market; and their latest tariffs are no different!
In fact after years of denying facts about UW's high prices, you are now hoping this new deal will make them competitive.
Over the years you have attempted to make the most of a set of 'very bad hands' you have been dealt; and to those with little knowledge - which includes it seems most UW salesmen - you have had moderate success. However in your latest intervention you have failed to meet even those low standards you previously aspired to meet; and the nice thing is you are fully aware of that fact - hence the sniping at Cardew and not addressing facts.
So if you want to continue this rather one-sided exchange, why not talk about gas and electricity? let us take it as read that you and many other don't like BT - Gas and Electricity please!0 -
Anyone know if it is possible to get this thread renamed the 'millicentbystander v cardew discussion thread'. That's all it is.0

Indeed. Amusing though, non? The unstoppable force (Millicentbystander) meets the immovable object (Cardew).

Excellent point - albeit if you went back over the many pages in the thread it would need to be renamed with all the other names my 'opponent' has used.
It really would be nice if we could discuss gas and electricity prices on a gas and electricity thread; but, for obvious reasons the 'UW lot' are not keen.0
