As a follow up to my post last night regarding accurate monthly billing and UW being easily the cheapest on those low consumption levels, I hope you can see this:

Oooh, look, first utility are the cheapest. Hmmmm...no, read the small print in the tariff details. Perhaps Quentin would like to take this misleading info up with first utility? Thought not.0 -
It's called choice and that is something C&Q seem to want to deny others where Utility Warehouse is concerned.
The whole thrust of my posts is to encourage choice and make readers aware of the practices of some UW salesmen.
Wouldn't it be better to encourage Meeper to post details of her 'estatic' customer and prove us wrong? Everyone knows what a farce that was; but not a peep out of all the UW salesmen, except to 'thank' her posts; despite what should be toe-curling embarrassment.
Also not a word of criticism for the vociferous pro-UW poster who for years on this thread maintained his stance of no connection with UW, until it transpired he is a UW salesman with his own UW website.
He should be ashamed - but won't be, not a word of censure from you fellow UW salesmen, it seems that it is accepted UW sales tactics.
Yet all you can do is keep popping up to resurrect, out of context, an inconsequential point Quentin mentioned about the cashcard.0 -

Then why, when UW launch a product that is unquestionably the cheapest of its kind on the market (the SIM only mobile deals), it took you almost 6 months of prompting to even mention it let alone discuss it? Don't kid yourself, your modus operandi on here has been for many years to score points and denegrate UW no matter what and you certainly aren't interested in promoting/encouraging choice if one of those viable choices is UW. You aren't interested in anything positive just the negative. That basically says it all. So stop trying to come across as the people's champ. It doesn't work0 -
NigeWick, I must concede, you were right.
Life is much more pleasant with Q & C on the ignore list. I came to the conclusion, as others have, that they are not interested in discussion, onlly in smearing the company and labelling everything a lie if it doesn't agree with their agendas. So, they are ignored, and the thread suddenly looks a lot more positive than it was before! Blushing refers to the involuntary reddening of a person's face due toembarrassment
I thought it might be because of my post.0 -
Have to say I'm encouraged by this paragraph from the half yearly accounts published today:Retail energy prices during the first half were broadly unchanged compared with the same period last year, while consumption was slightly lower than normal due to the particularly warm weather we experienced during the spring. This had the effect of increasing our gross margin for the period, which also benefited from the impact of more favourable commercial terms which we managed to negotiate with a number of our key wholesale partners. We do not expect this higher gross margin to be sustained, as we intend to use it in order to make our customer proposition even more competitive. We anticipate this will drive faster organic growth and improve customer retention, which will in turn lead to steadily rising earnings over the medium term.
As soon as EDF actually send me a gas bill (I've only been waiting 10 months so far!!!) I will be taking my gas account to UW in order to get the 24/7 calls. And I will NOT be paying any exit fee, I assure you.

They have a 21% gross profit margin. That's quite good. Well done Utility Warehouse for charging so much and making so much profit.
Revenue £161M less Cost of Sales £127M equals Gross Profit £34M.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
