One individual here has even accused the company of frightening under 15 year olds. As you cannot join the UW unless the member is 18+ I am waiting for the individual to return and explain this comment.

The person in question as you are probaly aware is an ex uw distributor who has a long running dispute with uw.He probaly means they rang up and upset one of his children.

hi quintin as far as i know broadcall counts as two services and so does gas and electric that makes four plus a mobile dont know if this counts but i have been informed that i get 24/7 free national calls and my girl friend can call my mobile for free from the land line have i been miss informed or is this correct would like all views on this thanks

    Hi Blunty,

The calls are hardly free if you have to take their expensive energy to get them.

I cant see anywhere in their tariff that suggests any inclusive calls to UW Mobiles.Mind you their call info is sadly lacking eg they dont publish the cost of calls to 0844/0871/09 numbers etc .

Why not just get one product and your card from them eg your mobile . Your still get your cashback from them, and your be able to get cheaper prices elsewhere on the other products :D

If the cashback card is the important issue, as suggested above, get the single UW service that costs the least extra more than other suppliers.

Don't get people to pay £hundreds more for gas and electricity.

    Good afternoon.

I am a UW distributor, and I watch this discussion with interest.

I wonder, what of this individual which I saw recently:

Currently with the UK's biggest telecoms provider for their phone and internet. Changed their gas & electricity 3 months ago to the company which was the cheapest from online searches at the time (note - not the cheapest any more). Currently spending £120 per month on gas, electric, phone & broadband. Currently spending in the region of £2000 per month in the shops included in the Cashback Card 5% program.

The individual in question could save around £10 per month on their phone & broadband service and their gas & electricity worked out at about £10 per month more than they were currently paying, so there was a zero net effect. Taking into account therefore their £2000 per month for shopping, petrol, etc etc, they would generate £100 per month in cashback which would bring their total bill for the month for gas, electricity, phone and broadband down to £20.

To all of the nay-sayers out there, please find me quotations for phone, broadband, gas and electricity for a 3-bed semi in the WA postcode area which total less than £20. Otherwise, please extricate yourselves from your high horses, click on the little red X in the top right hand corner of your screens and don't bother typing anything more.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great day!

When you come up with figures like this, you just confirm the "busy fool" you convince your gullible members to turn into.

Why would anyone want to pass on their £1200 a year cashback to uw just to make their very expensive energy more acceptable.

Your friend would be far better off keeping the £1200 "cashback" for himself and buying his utilities from the cheapest suppliers.

    /makes buzzer sound

I'm sorry, you didn't win tonight's star prize.

Let's try and see if I can pinpoint where you have gone wrong:

    - Their energy was £10 per month more than their existing provider by switching to UW - hardly a very expensive alternative.
    - They weren't passing on their £1200 a year Cashback, it was being generated by doing the same shopping in the same stores than they were currently using. Instead of therefore paying £100 for something and getting £100 worth of stuff, they can pay £100 for something, receive £100 worth of stuff and £5 off their bill. The 5% cashback is either there or not, depending on which card you use...
    - Please let me know how the individual in question can keep the £1200 cashback for himself.
    - Please answer the question as to how this individual could get gas, electricity, phone and broadband for £20 per month in total.
    - Please tell me - if he is therefore going to pay £20 per month for his services, why would he even care whether someone is making money out of it?

I wonder, after all of your rhetoric and nonsense, will you ever answer some straight questions? :)

Yours, with a smile, Meeper (UW Distributor).

You don't answer why anyone should "earn" £1200 in "cashback" just to pass on to UW!

Your member could have kept the £1200 for himself - no need for him to let UW take it all is there?

If you are saying he can get everything for £120, this means he must be a very low user, not that uw is cheap! (We know it is actually about the most expensive for energy).

Care to give us the consumption figures?

You don't have to do that to save money on your energy compared to buying it from UW (who sell just about the most expensive energy).
