I am still a customer for broadband, home phone and my wife's mobile because they are best value for us as we use the pre payment card to good effect.
You tell us that by using the risky pre payment to good effect makes your expensive services "best value".
But why go through all these hoops.
Wouldn't it be more sensible to buy the best value products elsewhere, then if you can get some discount from your shopping then keep it for yourself instead having to keep on the UW treadmill just to make their products appear "best value".0 -
UW selling tactic is as bad as any of the "big 6" and should be highlighted, people think there "pal" is doing them a favour. always 20 - 30% more expensive than the cheapest supplier. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0

Unless you have something constructive to say Quentin instead of the constant and ridiculous personal attacks on my family can I respectfully ask you to SHUT UP.,
Where have I made "personal attacks" on your family?
And it was you who introduced your family into this thread when you (for reasons unknown) decided to tell us this:..... none of my customers are friends or family.....
Which you have subsequently agreed was untrue!!0 -

I'm not defending UW but in the East Midlands based on 3,300kWh electric and 16,500kWh gas. EDF online saver 2 comes in at £940 per year and Utility Warehouse comes in at £1,056 per year (on the 3 bedroom medium tariff) only 12% more expensive than the cheapest tariff. As is industry standard all companies only compare their tariffs to other companies standard tariffs the best standard tariff is Npower at £1,024 per year making UW only 3% more expensive.
The average of the big six is £1,133 so UW can legally advertise their services as being 7% cheaper than the average bill.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I have so many questions to pose to Quentin based on his previous 2-3 posts, but unfortunately, I'm off on holiday for a fortnight tomorrow without much internet access, so I won't bother.
Would someone care to pick apart his latest rantings about risky cards and get some clarifications please?

...That said I do think Martin Lewis is a naysayer tbh. He's on record as saying he doesn't like UW....
Is that correct? Do you have a link please?
It doesn't seem to quite tally with the quote from his article I posted,"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Do you have facts to support this?
I do not think even the most evangelical of distributors would try and say that Utility Warehouse is THE cheapest these days. Unfortunately for them, when I checked my own numbers a while ago I found that even with using the pre payment card I could save by switching electricity and gas to another supplier. But, their services did work out best value for me over a number of years and still may benefit a lot of people. Obviously when my contract with the current company expires I shall be looking round again. I still have some services with UW and using the card means that I get the best value for me personally. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

Sorry no, Premier. It was many years ago I think. I remember reading it but can't remember where I saw it.
Oh well, let's strike that from the record then (unless it can be substantiated).
I see you also say:keggs wrote:Equally I never advise anyone else"Now to trolling as a concept. ....
