Of interest to many UW customers would be the following:
The OFT classification of a misleading advert is ..... 'An advert is misleading if it deceives or is likely to deceive its audience and affect their economic decision-making'
and their classification of what constitutes a misleading advert is .....
'A misleading advertisement can be a spoken statement - eg, given by a sales representative, in person or over the phone. It does not have to be in writing.'
and their examples of what is classified as a misleading deception include
'contains a false statement of fact - this may be possible to prove or disprove by evidence' / 'conceals or leaves out important facts' / 'creates a false impression, even if everything stated in it may be literally true.'

The TVG is an absolutely classic example of an 'advert(see definition of advert) that creates a false impression. Indeed I suspect that many of the salesmen who spam MSE and other websites are so indoctrinated that they possibly believe the TVG has some merit - instead of being worthless.

Let us hope that the proposed mis-selling legislation is passed.

So maximum publicity to all UW customers would be a great public service.

Well, why are you wasting your time on here belly aching about it? Do something proactive, man, mobilise the troops, take to the streets, get yourself a sandwich board, get Quentin one as well, personalise them with your message, get yourself on The News At Ten ('and, finally, we bring you a curiosity from the Midlands with his mystery sidekick' would be my bet :D). For once do summat instead of just making us suffer your incessant moaning on here.

At last - some proper advice.

And still no answers to my questions accompanied by more mud-flinging. Such sad individuals.

....yes I have one relative. Big deal.....You do use facts to make up your own stories don't you.

We know that you do mislead when you come here.

What your agenda is we don't know.

But what was your reason for telling us this yesterday:

    Just blatantly misleading.

Nigewick might have used a different description!

Excellent diversionary tactic. :rotfl:You're not some weird politician by any chance. Meeper is waiting for an answer.

As for me, I'm not answerable to anyone but myself.

    That's OK.

But your readers have the right to know about you coming here with an agenda to deliberately "mislead".

It seems water off a duck's back for you. Others don't expect company reps to misuse the forum like this.

The diversionary tactics of Meeper are straight from the multi-named Troll's book.

My purpose of intervention this time is purely to point out that any UW customer who feels he was mis-sold gas and electricity by a UW salesperson,(particularly using the TVG) might soon have a method of redress.

If they are happy with the deal then, my information is of no use.

Amazing to see that after all this time the same individuals are still childishly sniping at each other, trying to score points and be top dog on this thead. In fact, i've changed suppliers twice since I last really contributed here, but the thread has got no further. No constructive discussion is possible.

    Pathetic.

I agree. I must admit - I couldn't resist having a little banter. I's been a long time, but I am rightly admonished. Personally, I just wish this thread could be killed off then we can all get on with our lives. It's run its course.

Since when is asking legitimate questions considered "diversionary tactics"? I have asked about certain elements of your statements, seeking clarification. This, if anything, is to your benefit, as you have the opportunity now to make yourpoint in a coherent and strucutured way and blow my remonstrations out of the water with your undeniable facts. To not do so renders all of your subsequent comments somewhat impotent.
