Well the prices you are quoting in that case then are the pre increased prices which will come soon, so if UW raise its gas and electricity prices similar to the big 6 they will then be 30% more expensive than the tariff you quoted based on your figures.

12% + say 18% and thats what im judging my figures of 20 = 30% higher than the cheapest tariffs on the market not standard.
Neither Npower or EDF have yet increased prices so it is comparing like with like at the moment. When both Npower and EDF have increased prices UW will as well. I will come back here and compare at that point. I imagine it'll still be around 10% more than the cheapest online tariff and less than 5% more than the best standard tariff but we'll see. I'm just using todays prices.

Well, if you're not prepared to do your own research and base your decision on a couple of postings on an internet forum.............I rest my case.

I've been a distributor and customer for many years. I am happy. It has worked well for me. Yes, there have been issues, but there always are. The company now has 350,000 club members both householders and businesses.

As Maz says, you should do your own research and decide for yourself whether there is any benefit. What I will say is that UW like all home based businesses is not some get rich quick scheme. You need to work at it, but unlike a job you receive a residual income for work you did just once. And yes, you will lose customers; some will be sceptical; many will benefit; others will try to trip you up. Just like many of the people on this thread I might add.

This MSE thread is not a good advert either way. Carry out your own due diligence and don't accept anyone's advice except your own.

    Hope that helps.

can someone please tell me if this is worthwhile doing and a steady income or if im totally wasting my time.
I as a distributor but gave it up. I just was not prepared to put the effort in so that I would be successful. It's my fault and I can admit it which many can not or will not. Yes, one can make an excellent living with the company or just some pocket money. It depends on how hard you are prepared to work. Having said that, the work must be consistent otherwise you'll just slide back to square one. You must also look upon your distributorship as a business not just a hobby. Go down the hobby route and you'll end up not making any money. You get out what you put in, in fact you probably get more out than you put in as you get paid for as long as customers stick with the company (T&Cs apply). I hope that helps.

They boast having 33,000 reps and 325,000 club members.

Assuming every rep is a member, then this means the average commission income is coming from less than 9 members per rep. Not many sales managers would be happy if that was the sum total of a 33,000 strong sales force!

Bearing in mind they charge you £200 to become a rep, then each of those 9 customers costs you over £20 each before you see any profit at all!

Doesn't quite match up to the riches they say you'll get in their recruiting videos!

Another slur. I NEVER advise any adult about anything including whether UW is beneficial to them. I show them them information - and let them decide for themselves. What other people do is their business. You can choose to believe me or not - that's your choice. But your comment has allowed your mask to slip regarding your attitude towards UW. So I for one won't take any advice from you.

Do you recieve a payment if , after showing any adult the information , they then sign up for UW under your refer?

I receive a one off payment for each customer that takes up any of the services. The amount depends on how many services they decide to subscribe to. It's not a huge amount. People who work for traditional utility customers get a lot more. They also have a lot or pressure put on them to sign up customers - hence the accusations of miss selling.

UW IDs have no pressure. It's their business. They run it as they like provided they conform to the rules and regulations otherwise they have their distributorship cancelled.

Once a customer signs up, about 2 months later, I receive a small override based on how much the member's bill is. Again it isn't a huge amount. However, these small amounts add up. You can make a very good living by just gathering customers. But it does take time. And you must look after your customers and deal with any challenges they have in a professional manner.

If you want to earn a lot of money then you build up teams and help team members. No one, but no one earns money for signing up distributors. That's illegal. And you won't get very far in the business if you are not prepared to help your team members achieve what they want to achieve. That's why I like this kind of business, because it is about helping each other and not screwing people.

Finally, as someone has been rather scathing about how I as a so called salesperson can be caring and not try to influence. I do not advise anyone. No distributors should. You recommend and show people what benefits becoming a member will give them. It is then up to the prospective customer to decide. The only time I perhaps would break that rule is if I realise myself there would be no benefit to them joining. If so, I will tell them.

So despite all the crap the naysayers try to shovel onto people here, UW and its distributors are in the main ethical human beings who actually care. The bloke who came from BG to my house wasn't. He was insulting.

Just an aside. one benefit a customer can get by recommending UW to other people is an extra discount off their own bill. The more they recommend the UW the more discount they receive. It's called the customer discount scheme.

Assuming your comment wasn't intended as a sarcastic remark, if you genuinely want to know more pm me. Before someone accuses me of spamming, re-read what I have said. I have answered the question put to me - fully.

Although elsewhere on the net you have told your rep colleagues (when they urged you not to come here) that the reason you come here is to abuse the pm system to tout for business/recruit new reps you are well aware you break the rules doing this, and again just bring UW into disrepute with this behaviour.
