Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus) Discussion

Hi All, need your advise. I look after the gas/elec/phones and all utilities at the company I work for.
A friend of the boss/owner (the friend is unknown to me) has been encouraging my boss to switch the business to them (we currently pay >£10k on gas+elec, £2k on phone a year) but I've been reading reviews.
We are currently with British Gas, and I do the yearly negotiations to get the best rate (same with phones). I'm waiting for rates to compare, but I rather not have any problems - especially with the phones.
Should I put him off..?0 -

Indeed. If I was the boss I'd want to be presented with a fully costed short list of suppliers. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Are you really asking why someone would want to get rates through and compare all the available options while saying you are a financial advisor?
Shouldnt you know why someone would want to see all the available options?
I wouldnt want to come and see you for financial advice if its "Take Utitlities from Utility warehouse and dont ask questions" :rotfl:Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

The question was "Should I put him off...?", and the response was "Why would you want to do that?". As mentioned, it would be prudent to gather all of the facts (as much as that goes against what some contributors to this thread would like to do) and present it to the boss, not just warn him off without the proper research.
Have a nice day.

All "clever" copy from the UW marketing dept!
They don't "promise" to be the cheapest.. .. You have to claim if (when) you discover they aren't!
Here's the catch (apart from you having to take at least 4 services to be able to claim):Only one claim can be made per member.0 -
only one claim can be made per member.
To use the full terms:customers can only make one claim under the Price Promise. They can claim for every service they take, if they want to, but they must submit all of their claims at the same time.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0 -

I am sure the friend's advice is completely impartial and not at all influenced by the commission he will pocket from each and every thousand pounds you spend.0 -

No comment on the misleading copy? How do you provide the UK's cheapest gas and electricity?
You would have to be pretty gullible to fall for that claim!0
