Hi Guys, 1st time user and have read quite alot of the posts.
I believe I must inform you that I am a UW customer, have been since August last year.
I came on here because I was recently asked if I wanted to earn some money selling the products, as I was made redundant last year from my full time job and wanted to find out a little more about earning some money working part-time. the posts have been imformative, at times, quite heated, at times but definatly split between those who 'believe' and those who think UWDC is satan reincarnated.
On the last couple of pages somebody finally got the gist and identified the difference in the Babee card over the Cashback card - there is no comparison. UW CB card is far superior and you can spend it where you like. When I signed up I was told it was partnered with MasterCard and could be used everywhere, which i do, but I have also become more aware of the partnered stores and online stores to purchase items I would be buying anyway and therefore saving me money. I have looked at Babee and the costs to add money and transfer and get your money back is expensive- not really a good suggestion by somebody.
The cashback saved offsets my Utility bills for gas and electric and mobile - basically I get my mobile for free and some money off the elec and gas. I'm with Sky for phones and BB ,as I started work for them this year earlier this year (firat job since last January) and get a great staff deal. Overall I'm very happy and the way it was explained to me and works for me but there was a point raised earlier about the mobiles - could one of the UW ID's confirm the comment about the mobiles - if I want to change my provider do I have to pay to get my PAC code. I have had different providers in the past and have never had to pay for a Pac so do I have to now if I want to transferr? If so it was never explained to me that this was the case as I've had the same mobile number for the last 10 years.
Please get back to me to confirm. Many thanks. Clive0 -
I was told recently by a person in CS that I would have to pay for my pac code. He did offer to waive the charge because they could not offer a 24 month contract for the phone I wanted because I was an existing customer. They wanted me to go on a 5 year contract because the "systems weren't ready". I declined.0

If you wait until April you can go on their better deals I was told.0

Are there new mobile deals coming out in April? I read recently that they are going to bring out some more sim only deals with included data but no idea if that's true. I did read in the recent trading update that they are now focusing much more on their mobile deals, which is not unexpected given Wigoder's previous business success story...0 -
Totally agree, the length of the contracts are beyond ridiculous. Thankfully my sim deal is a 30 day rolling contract (I'm happy with my Samsung Jet even though my Blackberry owning son thinks I'm a dinosaur!)0

They'll crack it eventually. If you think about it their previous deals on Sim only were okay, the ones before that were shocking.. they're still brilliant if your phone model is not too expensive e.g. Blackberry. It is a wise money saving move if you can afford it, to buy the phone new or nearly new yourself, and then bung in a Sim Card. 500 mins, unlimited texts, data bundle for £15 no contract is amazing.
They'll crack the pricing on the more pricey handsets eventually, they always come out with new ideas.
I have an old deal on Sim Only in my Blackberry which was £12 for unlimited texts and 150 mins.
In April they've said I can switch over to the 500mins unlimited texts for £10.0 -

The story I'd heard was originally they wanted to wait for all of these new deals until April when their annual conference is on and big announcements get made from immediate effect and the coming months. When they announce things, they give dates and some things still drag for short while before they go live to make sure fewer things go wrong.
The dilemma here was they had immediate access to these deals for new mobile network subscribers/numbers, and there wasn't the facility straight away to transfer tariffs from the old bundles into these new ones (and transferring the number) which was going to take them a lot more time.
They decided to launch them for new customers and just send info out on the back of bills about the ability to change in April in the end. Looking at the share price increase over the last 2 months you can see why.
As these deals are so good in the present market with the price guarantee, I doubt tariffs will change for a while - i wouldn't be surprised if some contract lengths get shortened though.
You do have to remember that on the long contracts, customers are paying less monthly just over a longer period. For some this is suitable but I personally like to change every 2 years.
Free Sim only and buying the phone outright makes sense to me.0
