By the way Virgin dont charge to call 0800 numbers.Nor does any other Landline Supplier come to that.
i didnt mean 0800 numbers in such i meant 0845 ....08457 etc, it was just a term i was using
virgin have been terrible with the media promising x ammount of memory and not getting it, terrible customer service. overall i would rather pay more than stay with them but if you do feel protective about them then good for you, i am very versatile in usage of utility companies and will use them at my own dispense, thats what they are there for to provide a service, when it goes wrong then something must be done after all they are all willing to take our hard earned cash.. so yes i'll be moving to uw for now and thanks to the other users here for the advice, all is appreciated.

Sorry that makes no sense at all.
If you are moving from Virgin Cable to ADSL then the speed you will get depends on your distance from the exchange whereas thats not the case with cable. Talk Talk don't have the best rep for broadband either. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

you are missing the point originally posted , about uw being cheaper for me!
i was posting in the help that it would help someone else out not open up a debate about weather or not virgin are best for people.
we have personally found them to be of bad service but if it works for you then good for you.

It was the point about the amount of memory that I could not understand, maybe a terminology issue. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

This applies to vendors on TopCashBack, Quidco and others. It's the nature of the beast. Sometimes it can take 60-90 days for cashback to be credited to the buyer. If this is also the case with the UW site, then people are going to wonder where their cashback has gone. Is there a system in place, or is it too early to tell?

Not being protective just putting the record straight.Virgin are probaly the dearest landline call supplier in the UK.:D
Ok you meant 0845 numbers but there not included in the UW inclusive call bundle .0870 is but not 0845.
"Free Global Calls": Make unlimited free calls to landline numbers in the UK (beginning 01, 02, 03 and 0870) and in 10 popular international destinations (Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Spain, USA) at any time of day depending on the number of services you take:"0 -
many thanks to you all for the info... always good to get that second opinion and scrutinise any facts or theories.

I must say this is a very interesting thread as I am a distributor for Utility Warehouse. I must say I have never had a customer that has complained about the price or service they have received.
The best thing is there is no minimum contract so customers can try it, but if they do not like the service for any reason then they can leave at any time.
If you would like to know more about our service drop me an email: @ the spammer

Would be good if Quentin would lay his cards on the table and explain just why he feels so bitter towards UWDC.
I'm a distributor, although not a particularly active one. Overall, the company has saved me money, and they have provided customers with the opportunity to create their own discounts through the customer referral scheme and CashBack card without the need to become a distributor per se.
This will suit some people and not others.
As regards to the price promise, what's the name of the store that says it's 'Never knowingly undersold'? I believe there too you need some proof before you get your money back.
The offer's there. Take it or leave it.

Steve.
Determined, even dogmatic, sums up Quentin's attitude.
Many of us who post on this thread do so because of the deceptive claims of UW salesmen who post overtly or covertly.
Personally I think it disgraceful that salesmen are prepared to deceive friends and family about UW prices purely to earn commission.
The completely worthless Triple Value Guarantee(TVG) epitomises the UW approach to sales.
I have lost count of the number of posters who have been told by a UW salesman that the TVG absolutely guarantees the lowest prices for gas and electricity.
Indeed many spammers come on MSE and make exactly the same false claim.
Incidentally you will find most of the bitterness on this thread emanates from UW salesmen.0
