It wasn't what was said that was wrong it was the tone in which it was said.....There's one big difference you will never earn more than your boss. My team members can earn far more than me if they want.........
Beware the forked tongue of the uw rep!
It's a great surprise to see the "happy with uw" keggs continuing to promote uw here when elsewhere on the net he is vociferous about his disenchantment with the company, has given up promoting it and wants his colleagues to complain to the management and at long last the scales seem to have fallen from his eyes:keggs wrote:I am not happy.....To say I'm angry is an understatement.......I can't promote something that I don't believe in and while this hasn't gone completely I feel sapped..........Personally, I'm sick of it now.....Can I suggest that IDs start complaining to the company en masse....I have become disillusioned. Have been for a while really........I've stopped completely both customer gathering and ID recruiting now...because I no longer believe it offers people the great benefits it once did........We are all told to be happy but unless we are allowed to voice our feelings nothing will change....etc etc0 -
Wondered when Quentin would get in on the act.0

From today 1/10/2010 i am reliably informed that Utility Warehouse are encouraging reps to sign up BT Phone Customers who are still in contract, by offering to cover their BT Phone cancellation fees by crediting their UW bill with the amount of the cancellation fee.
In case the rep forgets to tell you be aware
Their is a UW Membership Fee of at least £18 a year.(£1.50 a month)
That unlike BT they charge everybody £18 extra a year for Caller Display.(£1.50 a month)
That unlike BT they charge everybody £18 extra a year for 1571.(£1.50 a month)
Although UW dont have a contract on existing lines being transferred , they retain the right to charge you for any credit they give you on this offer if you leave them for another supplier within the first 12 months.
Make sure they compare prices like for like as on the reps personal website,s they still compare their d/d prices against BT,s non d/d prices.Good news the ASA will have the powers to stop them doing this from next year http://www.asa.org.uk/Media-Centre/2010/ASA-digital-remit-extension.aspx0 -
Can anyone tell me whether, with the cash back card that I use (giving me approx £2 per month discount) my Utility Warehouse package for gas, phone, elec and broadband is good value. I'm on a high user tarrif and used approx 1960 KW hrs at 3.058 pence gas and 298 KW hours at 9.98 pence elec.
My combined elec, gas, phone and broadband average monthly - bill = £180.
I can't find anything to compare bundled packages like this.
All help/advice gratefully received.

Just put your energy useage into a comparison site to see how much you could save by switching just your gas and electricity. The uw prices are amongst the most expensive for energy.
The £2/month you are getting knocked off your bill by using their prepayment card barely covers their monthly membership fee (which no-one else will charge you!), and there are ongoing charges for using the card to pay as well (eg £1 per month management fee/35p a time when you top up).0 -

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

As Quentin says above, find out your annual usage and put it into any of the comparison sites listed on here, that will give you an idea of what you should be spending on gas and electric, then do the same with a comparison site for phone and broadband - someone told me Simplify digital are good the otherday but I've not used them myself.
Add the two together and see how that compares to your current spend, yes, you may have 2 or 3 direct debits instead of one but if they work out a lot cheaper (and they probably will) I know what I would go for..
At least with a direct debit for each thing you know how much you are spending on each utility.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
