Notice Nige only quotes the positive part of that post.....;)
I didn't quote any of Cardew's post as I do not read them, I just remember what (s)he used to say when I was daft enough to take any notice.

If you are referring to the quote about the pre payment card, it's just a quote backing up what I said about how *I* save money and that others can too if their circumstances fit what's on offer.

My partner takes electricity with us. Yes, she can get a cheaper tarriff elsewhere, but she spends over £500 a month at shops on the cashback card scheme.

Nige the uw rep seizes on this out of context extract from his uw rep colleagues otherwise negative post regarding uw. Nige then repeats his mantra we heard so many times, and goes on to tell us this is the way to get cheaper energy from uw. But it's all just about being a busy fool.

What is the point spending on the prepayment card to get cashback, but having to use that cashback to reduce the price of the expensive electricity they supply?

Why not just get cheaper electricity elsewhere to begin with? (And do what you want with the cashback, not just let uw keep it?)

It is unlikely that they will be THE cheapest for your gas and electricity, phones & broadband .

Then why bother to keep defending them on a Money Saving Site?

Because for me, and, therefore many others, they can be the best value overall when using the pre payment card. They can actually work out cheapest for some people without using the card, one must check to make sure. It may not work out for you, and if so I advise you to look elsewhere, but, I pay less to Utility Warehouse for my utilities than I would to any other company or combination of companies.

Why do you keep trying to disparage the Utility Warehouse when they can actually work out best value for many people?

This is just false advertising. You know this too!

You say the uw is best value overall when using the pre payment card.

So you are using their risky card to shop at the uw partner shops in order to accrue the "cashback" this gets you.

You then have your "cashback" taken off you by uw to reduce your expensive bills. As already posted, what busy fools theu make of their members.

Why not buy your utilities elsewhere cheaper in the first place and get to keep your cashback yourself?

Nope. It wouldn't for me and those it would be THE cheapest for are few and far between I fear.

I have no problem with telling prospective customers the truth. I don't attend the RaRaUpschool! meetings either. The way I see it, if people check their facts and decide they want what the company has to offer, they are much more likely to stay with Utility Warehouse and tell others how they were treated. Where possible we tend to buy stuff from those they know, like and trust. Why jeopardise a friendship and lose possible referrals by telling porkies?
