Hi everyone,
I'm helping my girlfriend make sure shes getting the best deal on her electricity and gas, and so have been looking at her bills which are with UW.
The last couple of months have shown her paying more money than she has been using, for example, in June she payed £55, despite only being quotes as using £41.47 of electricity, and £66 for £43.93 of gas.
A similar thing happened in July - can somebody please outline why this might be? thanks!
Is she on a monthly budget plan ?0 -
I wouldn''t trust UW further than I could throw them & I have a bad back... Others have different views & may be right.
Most people might regard UW's management structure as being that of a pyramid scheme. UW have told me it isn't a pyramid scheme so that's OK then, no issue. Clearly UW are not a pyramid scheme
Cheers!

are there any comparison sites that include UW? my mam is with them and they are charging her a whopping £70 for gas and £60 for elec for a 1 one bed flat. I've tried Uswitch and moneysupermarket but you can't put UW on0

Energyhelpline does, the others may be listing them as Telecom plus if they are not showing?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

I think they appear as Telecom Plus on switching sites0 -
As an EX UW distributor, I was sceptical before I joined, listened to all the hysteria and clapping at the Express day, reminded me off a secret cult, praise the lord and all that! but thought I would give it a go after much badgering by a friend who was a distributor. I lost confidence in what I was selling though due to the fact the GLAM on paper sounded good, until you read the small print! I could honestly find cheaper deals out there online on everything they sell, gas, electricity, mobile, cashback etc Its all a question of whether people can be bothered to look and most people I knew did and also didn't shop at Sainsbury's!
Its all about trusting the person who is selling the products, if you don't read the small print, the distributor ain't going to tell you! I treat all my utilities like my car insurance, look on line and shop around for everything!1 -

Is that the "Real" cost based on her reading or is it just an estimate because they don't have any ?
Simple way to get accurate readings is to give them to them.0 -

Try:
Which?Switch (listed as "the utility warehouse")
Uswitch (telecomplus)
UK Power (uw)
The problem you may be having in trying to see them on comparison sites is because they are so expensive. When the lists of tariffs are shown, they are usually in order of cost (cheapest first).
UW are invariably way down the page (or on the next page!)0 -
Is she on a monthly budget plan ?
We're not sure - the bills were set up some years ago, not by my partner, and we are unsure as to what the original tarrif was.
I've put more information on my troubles sorting this issue in another thread - I dont want to repost that information, hopefully in keeping with etiquette on this forum, but if anyone with knowledge of UW could take a look it would be much appreciated.
As a new user, I'm not able to post links, but it's in a thread entitled ''help calculating correct usage'' on this gas & electricity forum.
Thanks for the help!0
