I thought he had hacked in, or are you saying you believe he is a UW sales rep, which surely you need to be to access this web-site. Either way he is clearly breaking the rules as it is clearly stated that the information should not be copied to other web-sites, I am surprised that MSE allow it.

Is it? - you have the advantage on me because I haven't actually seen the site myself as I believe it is just for UW salesmen.(and sales ladies of course)

What else does it clearly state?

Ignoring the Quentin / Cardew alter-ego then....

Millicent, are you saying then that UW, by offering a 300Mb package are basically the same as other providers who say that they are "unlimited", but then put a FUP in place, whereas UW, by being open and transparent with their offering in the first place might be losing out my not using a workaround to market themselves as "unlimited"? Surely such an unscrupulous company such as this would try to take advantage of the consumers by saying that it is unlimited when it's not?

You can't mean that actually we say that it's 300Mb and then deliver it instead of saying that it's unlimited and then limiting it under a spurious FUP?

And now, I'm sure this can't continue for long in this vein - it's time for the Cardew alterego to make his generous posting to new members about having the most expensive gas & electricity which is nothing at all to do with the current debate, then he needs to hit log off then log back in again as the Quentin so that he can post more links having spent the last few hours trawling through Google to find more damning evidence against this horrible company. I think we should have a bet - I think I can find more compaints on the internet as a percentage of customers from BT and British Gas than I can from UW. Shall we have a contest?

Here you go again, trying to make out that things are not what they seem. Here you imply that Jannine must be a UW sales lady for having information about this site.

If you weren't such a total dolt you would be able to read Quentin (your schizophrenic alter-ego)'s post at the bottom of either page 59 or 60 which has the site name followed by my post at the top of Page 61 which quotes the things that Jannine is referring to.

No wonder you don't reply to questions and give any answers. By the time you have logged out of one account and into another you are confused about who is asking what to whom!

Well they are the same in that it's double the price of anyone else for less data, everyone else (unless I'm mistaken and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) starts at 500mb for 5GBP and then blackberry service is £5 per user, which is double at UW. Absolutely nobody is promising unlimited anymore to new customers, except for gaffgaff and three on certain tariffs (Three don't actually use the word unlimited in their material).

Useful information. Do people actually usre 500Mb of data normally? Is that regular consumption? I have no idea, but I don't think I ever get near to my 300Mb. Are the tariffs with UW competitive when you include the other stuff? So, the data bundle for 300Mb is £5, and you can get 500 minutes and unlimited texts for £10 sim-only. How does 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 300Mb of data for £15 per month compare to other providers, assuming that 300Mb is sufficient for most people? Also, how does 800 minutes, unlimited texts and 300 Mb data for £20 compare? I would assume that unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 300 Mb data for £25 would be pretty hard to beat?

Bear in mind if you have a blackberry, it's £5 plus £10 - so it's £25 out of the gate. As for the other stuff, I'll have a look in the morning.

Tesco do unlimited calls (in reality 3000 mins FUP, same as UW), unlimited texts (in reality 3000 texts, unlike UW which I believe is truly unlimited subject to the texts being to less than 100 different numbers per month) and unlimited data (typical load of balderdash, it's actually 500mb) for £30/mth.

Asda do unlimited calls (in reality a pathetic in comparison 2000 minutes), ulimited texts (in reality 2000 again) and no data for £25/mth.

Make no mistake, UWs new range of SIM only deals is at the moment unbeatable in the marketplace. Not forgetting for existing UW Homephone users they give a tranche of free (inclusive) calls. Which is probably why Cardew and Quentin haven't gone anywhere near discussing them in this thread. ;)

Sorry, I'm just looking at the terms and conditions for all this and it keeps mentioning a membership fee - what is this charge and how much is it?

Thanks cgk - I look forward to it.

As an aside: http://www.which.co.uk/switch/energy-advice/customer-satisfaction-survey-results and http://www.which.co.uk/switch/news/2011/01/best-and-worst-energy-companies-revealed-243074 make for good reading, I find.

Top marks for quality and clarity of bills, customer service, dealing with enquiries and *gasp* value for money, with a 77% customer satisfaction rate, and this published on 25th January.

    Interesting times.

Membership of the Utility Warehouse Discount Club costs from £1.50 per month, so indeed, that would increase the price. Good point indeed, but they still come in at an excellent offer and much lower than other comparative tariffs.
