So was I.
I'm not which is why I said real world usage scenarios, rather than my usage, however since my PhD is in mobility and I am a researcher and expert into mobile technologies, I have a fairly good idea of what people are doing in the mobile space. Are you saying that the use of data is an uncommon usage scenario in 2011 and that demand for mobile services is not growing?
you say the Sim-only tarrifs are specifically for people who are not using data, can you point to where it says this?
I'm interested in saving money and post in various of the sub-forums on that topic and others, does that answer your question?
Well sidestepped. Like I said, in the REAL WORLD the vast majority of mobile users DON'T use data. Can we at least agree on that?
PS If you think their guarantee is not right, why not put your mobile where your mouth is, get a SIM and take some money off UW?0 -
Actually looking at their contract phones, they are very expensive and represent very poor value for money, for an outdated Blackberry curve, you would have to pay an eye-watering £40 a month for 500 minutes, texts and limited internet over 18 months.0

Still sidestepping. We are discussing their Sim Only deals and I originally asked you to show their guarantee was wrong by linking to cheaper like for like calls/texts packages. You've clearly had a good look at them so go for it!0 -

Why would I want the hassle? I pay orange £15 a month for 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and 1gb of data.
I'm simply someone reading this threads and commenting, I've made maybe 4 or 5 posts on issues here that are of interest or that I think that other readers might find useful. If you are not connected to this company, why the passive aggressive manner and determination to run off anyone who makes any comment that is overwhelming positive?
Don't you think that's counter-productive as it brings even more attention to the thread and why people who claim to be unconnected would expend so much energy in a defense of something that have no stake in.0 -

But I was discussing usage where people wanted data, that's clear from the outset - I've made my point so I'm not going to get drawn into it with you. People can read my posts, my posting history here and compare it to yours and judge for themselves.0 -

Sim only? 30 day rolling contract? Available to new customers? It was YOU who started the ball rolling by claiming the mobile deals we are discussing could be beaten, like for like. I've asked you to back it up and like the rest of the naysayerswhen asked to back anything up have gone all shy in us, lol.0 -

I'm on O2 Simplicity 15 with Blackberry unlimited bolt-on. £15/month on an iPhone 4. 600 minutes/unlimited texts. I don't get anywhere near the 600 mins in most months, but there again I don't use the phone for business.
It varies from Month to month, generally I'll do about 400 a month or so but some months it can get upto 600 minutes, I guess i could beat them down to £10 a month and reduce the numbers to 500 or so but I'm happy with it overall. However, you've hit upon an interesting point, voice calls are on the decline on phones as more and more people use data services (I suspect you will not be surprised to know that Facebook usage is the most popular data service).0 -
What I do find very "strange" behaviour that a poster on here can basically "steal" information from another site, which is clearly not allowed, yet nobody says anything?!
If you are talking about Quentin's links, they are usually on 'you tube' these days.
I think it is quite illuminating to see the Modus operandi of UW salesmen.
It is a pity we don't get the juicier links any more - like Big Al's 'The public are mugs' address to the massed gathering of UW reps.
P.S.
I hope you don't mind me speaking for Quentin, but he is quite shy and reticent when it comes to posting on MSE.0 -

Really? All the text that he often posts from this other web-site can be found on You tube? I know the video's can be found, but surely not the quotes?:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

No, not the quotes.
I presume he is a member of a UW salesmen only website. I thought the only quotes were from [STRIKE]Dancing Boy [/STRIKE]Keggs.
Anyway I thought that you doubted the authenticity of those quotes;)
Incidentally I believe Quentin and Julian Assange are one and the same person.0
