Have you found out how much you could save on your energy - check up via one of the comparison sites. Then see if you can save any more by switching suppliers via a cashback site and getting cashback (and doing it every time you switch).I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Perhaps you would rather UW paid hundreds of thousands of pounds for TV advertising and then pass on those costs to the consumer like other providers do?
These "other providers" don't blatantly mislead customers telling them they will be only paying wholesale prices for their energy, as we see uw does, when actually being very expensive.
How come the others who spend all this money on advertising can be so much cheaper than UW?0 -
But be careful! If you want to go down this route and you want to always obtain the "best tariff" for your energy services, you should be prepared to switch about once every 3 months or so and always be chasing the cheapest deal when someone changes it. Talk about busy fools.....
Don't think you understand a busy fool as far as UW goes.
You tell people not to worry their bills will be expensive, that they should look at the full picture, spend thousands of pounds with the risky card and get those bills partly paid for with their "cashback".
Getting cashback paid into your bank when switching away from an expensive energy company is far from being a busy fool.
The cashback you get from switching is in addition to the money you will save on your bills.
So advising people to see if they can get some cashback when switching is just being money saving!0 -

Any idea why this npower customer is suddenly paying hundreds of pounds more per year than the figure showing on the switching site when he signed up last Summer? Plus the fact that he would lose out on another £145 if he switched to another supplier? As per usual, not one post on that thread from you. Of course, we all know your obsession is UW and not actually helping people....0 -

Wow. That story is amazing. Both for its content and its lack of helpful comments from Q. Only help there is from Millicent, who apparently is 457 other people, all of whom are rogues! Gosh.
To be fair, Cardew had a go (even though his advice was pretty useless in the circumstances) Of course, not even a sniff of the self-styled people's champion, Quentin, in that thread. Now, if the headline had included UW....
That person signed up to SOL14 in Summer 2010 as it came top of the switching sites for his consumption. By the time he came to start that thread, just over 6 months later and while he was still in the 'double npower penalty period' his annual bill would have been £465. OK, pretty cheap, I can sense people thinking. Err, his annual consumption is 537 gas and 2286 electricity!!!! Meanwhile, out pops SOL21 (21!!!) which on his consumption is £259 (TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY NINE POUNDS!) cheaper. But if you regard Quentin's total lack of responses on any of the threads regarding any of the Big 6 you have to assume he doesn't have a problem with stuff like this...0 -
If he would have been using the UW Cashback Card, he could have had zero bills and actually received money back from the company, depending on his usage!I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. That's quite interesting Meeper, are the owners of this other web-site aware what is happening and that their content is being posted on this forum? I should imagine MSE could get in some trouble for that and for allowing it to happen.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Much like I do Meeper, free line rental and calls for a year now, and money in my bank every month just for using my card to pay for my food and petrol!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

For the benefit of new readers:
For the average user UW are just about the most expensive gas and electricity company in UK
Check that fact out on any comparison website.
Bear in mind that there are over 30,000 UW salesmen, many come on here posing as satisfied customers. Some of the posters even stoop to posting with multiple identities.
Their purpose is to obfuscate and hide facts about UW's very high prices.0
