  • Is there any way you can break down what that 23.32 is BaggieBoy? It should say on your bill.

UW reps don't bother with the detail - we see that time and again when they spam here.

Their customers are drawn from their friends and relatives who just don't expect that their rep (ie their friend/relative) would mislead them like this.

Cherrydvt uses this forum to mislead (and neglects to declare he is a uw rep when doing so)!

This is from the risky uw card's ts + cs:

before I read thru the rest of this thread, I will make you aware of some things, and await your apology.

Firstly, in my first post here I said I was a UW distributor, but slightly different (I feel) from the norm, however I did say it.

Secondly, I have not at any point misled anyone (please find an innacuracy in any of my posts).

Thirdly, it's untrue that the cashback card cannot be used by business customers, it is just not allowed to be used for business petrol.

Clear now? Good, apology accepted, and thanks for ignoring all my posts about how some people can actually save by joining UW, I must be doing something right :)

Now, where's that form for unlimited texts and unlimited minutes for £20?
  • When Quentin ignores you, you just know it's because he has no answers. It will be interesting if MSE highlight the UW £20 SIM in their next article on best mobile deals, won't it? As far as I can tell, for people who don't want data, it's an unbeatable price.
  • What network do UW use? If it wasn't for the fact I couldn't be without my iPhone I'd be tempted by the UW deal.
  • They use T-Mobile, which I believe has now merged with Orange, so arguably the biggest coverage in the UK.

and now we learn that uw's poor 3% isn't even paid on all purchases as they no longer allow it when buying gift cards (eg for next etc) from Sainbury.

Have you got a source for that quentin please? I dont understand how the UW card can pick up what is purchased exactly, surely it just sees an "amount"?

New readers - note how UW salesmen want to move the discussion onto the merits of cashcards rather than the very high costs of UW's gas and electricity.

I dont want the discussion to focus on gas/electric at all, i never sell those services to customers for the reason you state - we are very expensive for those 2 of our 5 services - unless you're a business customer of course, no-one seems to be answering me when I say that for businesses we're actually very good :)

Were I making this up, don't you think the uw reps who come here promoting uw (and never mentioning things like this and them no longer including 0845 numbers in their "unbeatable" call plans) would have corrected me by now?

But if he's on standard broadcall LLU the price is £19.99 including VAT.

PS To be fair, no idea if they have stopped the cash back on them because i haven't bought one for ages, but I don't think the cash back should have been allowed on gift cards in the first place. I always thought it was a 'glitch', although a welcome one. Anyway, Quentin, aren't gift cards VERY 'risky'??? :p
  • It'll tell you on the Broadband page of your bill exactly how that breaks down. It's close, but not quite £19.99 + 17.5% vat.

Surely he should be paying that for all 3 as Milli says? I'm just trying help him work out why he's paying so much.

The best bet is to ring the customer helpline, see what they say.
