That's ridiculous Susie, definitely dont happen on Freeshare.

Speaking of Mods ... anyone ever had someone complain they getting emails from your group, insisting it's your group, demanding you remove them and when you check members list for their email addy ... they aint listed ... <shurgs shoulders>

    LOL

Noticed this 1 today "My son would like a Leksvig TV cabinet (not corner) to complement his existing furniture, but IKEA no longer make this."

if i was the parent id tell my son to buy his own cabinet, i cant see someone having an exact cabinet that the son would like,

Muahahahah I actually have one of these that doesn't fit in our new living room... it's staying in the spare room though in case it does when we move.

Newest one: Wanted: Lean to/Conservatory: I am looking for a lean to/conservatory for our house, we really need more space but sadly cant afford one. If anyone has one they are getting rid of due to an extension or getting a new one please would you consider us. Thank you

Yeah sure lemme get the one I have stored in the broom cupboard out for you.

I have been kicked off mine as 4 of my last things were either not asked for and i had 2 no shows, went to offer something last week and they would not accept it as i had recent item that i had not declared taken!!!!

The mods on these sites drive me mad, especially when you offer something and the next email is from them wanting it, and yes i have gave some nice stuff away, laptop x 2 , 32" sony tv plus more, funny they got taking straight away ;-)

funny that ? on mine i see "taken" posts for items that never were posted as offered and all them were for good stuff too , now i wonder ;)

Muahahaha - serial scroungers should remember who they've just sent sob stories to cos I have a stonkingly good memory!

Posted an offered a day or so ago for something fairly decent (freecycle's done well out of my housemove) - got a deluge of replies, decided in my usual way - ridiculous sob stories got booted out, outright emotional blackmail got booted out, messages not stating the item boot and so on and it was collected this morning (I've had pretty good luck so far with people showing when they said they would).... one who didn't get the item had gone really OTT on the sob story.

Today I post a batch of a few different things - same person with another sob story. Now these aren't massively large items and ones I can happily keep in the shed (unlike the other stuff) so nope no way! Pretty sure they sent a request the last thing I offered as well actually but I didn't keep those messages once it was collected.

The lastest one on our site is:-

Single Mother moving into her first house, she hasent any furniture at all, so anyone who can help with the following:-

Three piece Leather Suite (preferable brown or cream)
    Dark wood wooden side board,
    Dark wood TV table
Dark wood coffee table Preferably matching the above.

Cot, chest of drawers, and wardrobe for 6 month baby ( must be white)

Microwave, Gas cooker, washing machine, preferably white or red.

King size bed must be pine.

What gets me about this wanted list is that they are so desperate, that unless it is in the colour or wood of there choice, they dont want it, I always thought that beggars, couldn't be choosers.

I have a garage full of stuff, all in excellent condition, double bed, dining suite, coffee tables, washing machine, etc etc, they are in there because when we moved into this house, the previous owners had left them, but there is no way in hell would I offer them to the above wanted list.

This happens quite regularly on mine - I wonder too and I'd love to know the answer :)

Once we had a taken message received about five minutes before the offer message.

I get the individual messages not the digest as it's only a small freecycle.

Exactly - it's taken me the best part of a decade to get my furniture to all being what I want and matching - I had a mishmash of hand-me-downs that I've gradually replaced as times allowed... yet this kind of bunch of bananas demand the earth and never say thank you. It's had me so cross in the past I've thought about leaving our local group - especially, and I know this one's going to be controversial, the ones who use their kid as emotional leverage in their wanted posts or request emails (the reason I put "no sob stories" in my offers is to partially prevent this as it does cause me hurt and upset that I can't have kids and here we have this bunch using theirs as a free ride to a cream sofa - must be leather and in immaculate condition). Was taken to an extreme by the Xmas Eve post I mentioned before along the lines of "my poor little boy's been bought a DS game for Xmas and he won't have a console to play it on - and I can't bear the thought of his little face and the disappointment so can anyone deliver one tonight plz."

Then you get sweeties like the guy I gave a cooker to a couple of weeks ago who'd had a run of luck and ended up having to start out again building from scratch - who couldn't have been more grateful and sent me a follow up email to say he'd had it checked out and it was all working fantastically.

    Oh well - ho hum.
