Freecle / freecycle and balloons on sticks

just got this on our local Freecycle

"Thin nose hair straightners not been used for a year or so only thing wrong
with them is the bulb has gone that lets you know when there up to
temperature"


made us laugh ! - what will they come up with next...... talk about the present for someone who has everything !! :rotfl:

Getting a bit sick of freecycle, mainly because so many people just don't bother collecting stuff.

Had a few hundred LP's to dispose of ... she can only collect 1-1.30pm on a sunday (no other time available throughout the rest of the week, no-one else to collect for her). So I stayed in especially for her and she doesn't show up. Had to email her and she replies "oh, I forgot, can't you deliver ?"

A guy posted a "wanted" for a printer ... emailed him, he can't collect at all because he works in my town during the day and can't wait 30 mins until I get home from my job. But he still wants me to keep it until some date undetermined in the New Year when he's getting a day off work.

Timewasting pillocks.

hi has anyone got any old or broken gold? as i have to get my ring fixed but need soem gold as it will cost a lot any will be appreciated thanks

anything will do it dont matter if its broke i need it to fix my necalce thanks

Someone has suggested that she uses the necklace to fix her ring.
She's also asked for a freezer, dishwasher, bed settee, carpet cleaner & cat stuff.
All in the last few months.
I know that people get confused between Argos, DFS & Freecycle but Samuels as well now it seems.

my local gumtrees "stuff wanted" section is just like that, very annoying when you hsve what they want but they are expecting it to be free..em its a classified ads site !

makes you wonder why they dont cut to the chase and just ask for any old £10 notes that might be clogging up your wallets and purses or if not ,at a push old fivers you want rid of

( no shrapnel though i.e. any coins - although might take a jars full of £2 coins if they are in your way and you can deliver )

awwww this thread makes me feel all nostalgic - there was a bunch of us that had threads like these - kept getting moved from pillar to post by mods but that's an aside - quite some while ago where we poked gentle fun at the greedy and serial **** takers.

I feel Freegle/Freecycle has become victim of it's own success and not helped by mods not enforcing the movements own rules - so many were regularly flouted in my area and the movement round here has become a cesspit of scroungers.

I also , towards the end of me using freecycle, got a lot of no shows and people messing me about. that and the rudeness has seen me not offer anything for a few years now - shame the idea behind it is such a good idea.

I once had a reply of "I'll take them , When can I collect" - Never you rude ****er .

we had a request for 3d glassss to as her son wanted to go see a 3d film with his mates for his birthday 'treat' and she was too tightfisted to pay the extra money for 3d glasses.
