Freecle / freecycle and balloons on sticks

I've been on our local freecycle for around 4 years now. I think it's great but there are some PI Steakers on there without a doubt.
Our group has a new rule of not repeated the same wanted for a month and only one wanted per week. Offers are unlimited but even then you get people offering trashy things "or it's off to the tip".. the sort of stuff no-one needs or wants. We also had a problem a few years back with people regularly taking stuff from freeglers and putting it straight on ebay. Not nice.
I've done well out of it though, I've had quite a few broken bits and fixed them up. Got rid of a few things that way too - offered them out to anyone who wants them and I'm not talking junk I'm talking serviceable stuff and in one case an item that I'd gained on freecycle, repaired and then gave away again (sky box). I even delivered it!
I find freecycle is great to be honest. I've replied to wanteds and given stuff away and I've also gained bits too so it suits me well.0 -

Wanted 32 inch LCD TV
My TV has just broken and I would really appreciate it if anyone has just replaced or is about to replace their old working LCD TV and could donate it to me. We have borrowed a 19" for the time being, but a 32" is the perfect size for our living room.
Wouldnt mind one of them myself!:rotfl:

Interesting concept of working order on a freecycle offer this morning :
"Shredder, in working order but does not shred (it jams)"0 -
Recently joined freecycle.
Gave away a dinning table and chairs on there, and took from someone an old office chair.
I quite like it but have seen people asking for a lot! Does seem cheeky!
I think my local mods are good though, have seen a message that says that wanted adds for expensive goods eg. TVs and computer are banned0 -

My local Freegle group asks users to avoid overly extravagant "wanted" posts, but doesn't have a list of rules about what qualifies, so for example it's fine to ask for a TV in working order, but not to ask for a 42" flatscreen.0 -

Yesterday the same person was advertising on the local parenting website again for a 'forever home' for their cross breed female dog and wanted £100 ono. Today they are advertising for a puppy (not a toy breed) but this time they want it for free! I wonder how long the puppy will last before the decide to get rid of it for a newer model.0
