I would say they dont mind 'ends' of balls of wool. Wool that someone has used to knit a jumper with and are now lurking in the bottom of their knit bag.

Well that's what I would have guessed too but it is one of the most badly written wanted posts I have seen, not to mention distinctly lacking in manners.

"I have quite an old graco backward facing car seat and base to clip it in and out of the car easily. It's never been in an accident and has been washed. It would suit a granny for occasional use."

That'll be a small Granny! Mine just uses a cushion on long trips.

and until they get these things what are they planing to do exactly?
We're actually in this situation ourselves, we've been renting a furnished flat, and have just been offered a council flat, and buying everything we need has been a nightmare! I've got a load from Gumtree, though, including a bed, drawers, sofa, chairs, computer desk, coffee table, lamps, bedside tables; all from one person for not a lot of money.

This really takes a whole tin of biscuits, bearing in mind that a narrowboat described as a major project, not for the faint hearted, sold on ebay recently for over £2,000 -

We have been thinking for a while of having a narrowboat, so if anyone has one that they don't want, we would love to take it from you. Ideally about 40' long, but not with a BMC engine. Hopefully it will have been blacked over the last year or so and really would like it in good order with a good safety certificate. We are happy to collect.
Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.

OMG! that one takes the biscuit.

Mind you, you never know.... lol

As for furnishing the flat, thats exactly what the media says the recycling groups can do - they show how and increase the wanted posts for everything and a cherry on top.

If only they mentioned how good it is to be able to get rid of your old stuff through them.

Appearing on the North Somerset group today:

Blackberry any model - mine has just broken and I need it for work.
    Thank you.

Presumeably if you are working, and are that desparate for a Blackberry, the bank would lend you the money?
Oh dear, here we go again.

I don't think I've seen this thread before now.

I'm amazed at what some people on Freegle say they 'need' - I remember someone had recently moved and they 'needed' a Playstation3 and a wide-screen TV for the kids & a dishwasher for the new kitchen!

A while back, I, too, saw a wanted ad for an android phone - they were that new, I didn't even know what one was.

If I post something & get a reply from someone saying something like 'yes, I'll have it' or with a telephone number and 'ring me now, I want it', they'll be the last folk I would consider. A please and a thank you make all the difference. :)

Maybe if they ask this guy nicely, he'll let them have his for nowt.

After all, what's £27,000 between friends?
