I can now picture them riding around on the 'scooters' in the freezing cold wearing nothing but a smile and the underwear. I'd be smiling if someone gave me free scooters etc.

Hey, can I join in - this was posted on ours a few days back:

I am skint and need lots of xmas stuff Tree Decorations Presents for 3 young children so toys or vouchers for toys - r - us No car so cannot collect.

I am a giver and an asker. We gave away loads of stuff when we moved, I gave a TV/VCR last week but whenever I reply to an offer I never get anything. So now, if I need something, I ask for it.

I asked for a plastic dog bed because our dogs have eaten their way through 6 or 7 dog beds and I am not buying anymore. The one we got was HUGE and perfect, and last week I asked for a fish tank as our fish keep on having babies and have outgrown their 60L one we have. Someone offered one but then never got back to me, we went and bought one instead but when she did finally got back to me, my friends had started leaking so she had the tank and we had the accessories. However, it turned out to be double the size she said and is massive,LOL.

I always say please and thank you when I ask - basic manners as well as grammar, seem to me something missing from Freecycle here these days too - and I always take something to say thank you, usually a bottle of wine, to show my gratitude. I prefer to give to askers though - firstly because I might have it at the back of the cupboard and while I cannot see it, have forgotten about it and secondly, because I know that person genuinely (I hope) wants it and has a use for it and is not going to flog it on eBay or at the car boot - which has been found to be happening in this area when someone found all their stuff at a car boot sale.

Lol, if I were my manager, I'd send a snotty reply to him. He's banned himself from Freecycle because he KNOWS he'll get banned straight away.
