I just offered a Krups Dolce Gusto coffee machine on Freegle, with 6 sealed boxes of different coffee/cappucino/chocino etc.
We just don't use it and standing there like an ornament on the kitchen worktop and couldn't be bothered with ebay...

Anyway already have about 15 people asking for it but some people are sooooo rude!! Surely it doesn't cost anything to have some manners!! And the sobstories...

  • Thankfully when I offered a table on Freecycle, I only had nice replies. Ones like "I'll come and pick this up tomorrow" would really do my head in!

  • This one made me laugh:

    Wanted: Tankard
I don't feel quite right drinking beer from neither glass nor can.
Does anyone, perchance, have a spare tankard?
The more the merrier, I shall endeavour to convert my friends also to this
    wonderful tradition.

I also put up some old kids clothes and recieved replies like "can I claim these?" "would love these clothes, any chance you come to the following areas...?" they listed about 6 locations that I never go to

    This one REALLY annoyed me:
Good quality small kitchen in exchange for assistance in removal and a
van to remove it. left hand drainer sink. 293cm x 55cm or longer worktop
(sink will be positioned to the left. Two 55cm deep by 60cm long
worktops, 2 double units or one double and 2 single units, one single
unit, One double unit to be cut down on the left hand side. Wall cabinets-
5 single unit and a cooker fan 55-60cm wide. I used to fit bespoke
kitchens in the early 1990's and My Ex is a interior designer, Who knows
the Italian/European styles very well, Fittings etc. She is not a free
cycle offer, Maybe if you ask her very nicely. I live in a council flat
and have been waiting for a new kitchen for 8 years. I want to do it
myself now because I know the quality of the units that the council fit,
    Will be awful.
Also we came up with a simple but ergonomically correct
design. I would love to find a wood block work top to turn over or sand
    down. Thanks for reading

How bloody dare you. You ungrateful !!!!!!. The council are busy budgeting and putting together a program of works so that you can have a brand gleaming new kitchen and that is the thanks you give them!
I wish someone would come around to my house and fit me a nice new kitchen for nothing.
    Idiot.

You sound more than annoyed to me.

It sounds as though they only want a good quality throwaway one, not a crappy old ex council.
I wish someone would come & damproof my house, bu55er the kitchen.

Having an OH that works for a Housing Association specifying amongst other things the kitchen units etc I know full well they are far from 'Awful quality' and quite frankly I think he's bloody ungrateful.

There is a fabulous myth perpetuated that anything council is 'crappy' and that is far from the truth.

Personally I like the comical ones that crop up on ours from time to time

    Like this one;
    Hi ,

I still have some good quality hardcore left - at least a pallets worth, which would cost £80 if you wanted it delivered. This is free if you can collect it from my drive. It is still fresh from being a wall and hopes to be a shed or garage base in its next life.

or the base for a new drive, or a new room.
or a even an odd art installation.

I don't care what you want it for really. As long as it's not for rioting.
Please let me know if you can come and get it, happy for it to go in one lot or if you just want a small amount.
    Many thanks
