  • Have mixed feelings about how well I've done recently. On the one hand I think I should be able to make 1 more overpayment to reach my target of £675 - if I'm careful, on the other hand I've not been very good with meals recently and am probably having more treats than we should. Partly because I haven't been to do a big shop yet and partly because I'm so tired with waking in the middle of the night that I just can't be bothered by the end of the day. Hopefully this will change though. I'm due to start mainly working from home in a couple of weeks so should be slightly easier to pop dinner on early and have a bit more of a plan. I think it would be better if I had my own car back as I'm reluctant to drive the car I've borrowed more than I have to for work.

Got 1 more item to sort out on Ebay and then I'm done with Ebay for now. I think I might try and see if I have enough to do a car boot sale (prob after the baby is born) as this would be a lot less stressful and at least it would get rid of the stuff and bring in a few more pennies. The items that didn't sell on Ebay might be better suited to a car boot instead due to their low value (and therefore no postage).

Got OH to go to the bank today to change up my coins from the whisky jar for bigger change for the hospital car park. The cashier didn't quite understand him though and gave him a few coins with a £10 note (OH felt sorry for him as he'd just had a difficult customer so didn't want to ask again) - so I'll need to go into town to change it back up on Saturday. This will then go straight into my hospital bag. It'll also hopefully give me a chance to make that final overpayment for the month.

Other than that I feel there's not much else to report for now and therefore don't feel too DFW at the moment - perhaps it just goes like that sometimes. Still need to keep posting to try and keep on track and not lose sight of the master plan.

PS - Anyone else completely fed up with the World Cup yet???

MY GOD i am total fed up of the world cup!!!!!!! I have NO interest whatsoever!

I haven't been very DFW! I think i am getting really demotivated when i am unable to make anymore overpayment. I can overpay about £70 by the end of the month but until then i know i will feel a bit deflated!

Though i have decided tomorrow i will wake up with a brand new attitude!!!! :):):):):)

I need to work out what grocery bits we need and what extra bits we have to sell.

So as a reply to your comment i think everyone gets a bit like that sometimes xx

  • Thanks LK - I thought that might be the case. It just feels like such a long time in between paydays at the moment. I really do feel so much better when I'm on here so must try and make more effort.

Hmmm, yes the World Cup and those damned horn things! Got a football nut at work who wants it on the radio or Tv all day and then my OH has to have it on in the evenings too! Feels like I'm in a bee's nest all day :(

Going to go off and have a read of some diaries to boost my motivation xx

  • Hi D2BDF, loving the diary and congratulations on the pregnancy. Welldone with eBay sales, don't give up on it , you do get the odd person who is a pain in the butt, most of the time i have no problems.

I'm also sick of Football and fed up of my favourite programmes being cancelled because of it, had a cup of tea and choccy bar all ready last night and sat down to watch waterloo road and football was on instead:mad:.
  • Hi pennywise

Thanks for popping in and for the encouragement :A. Perhaps I'll just have an Ebay break - I did put a whole load on there and when it finished at the same time I was lugging parcels down to the post office every day it seemed - maybe I should pace myself :D Won't pretend the money hasn't been nice though. I've been topping up some my special accounts to try and get organised like making sure they'll be enough in the car account for my car tax in August so I don't need to worry about that and so on.

Glad I'm not the only one fed up with football - don't see why it has to take over EVERYONEs lives!

  • Not too much else to report until payday but I'll be checking the bank accounts later and making sure I can make that last overpayment of the month tomorrow. Also I was very lucky to receive a cheque in the post from my grandad for my baby fund :D Will be popping that in the BS too so it's looking really healthy now (my mum and dad have also made a very generous contribution). Also my lovely MIL has ordered us the pushchair, car seat and the relevant accessories from Mothercare and won't let us give her a penny! She says as it's her first grandchild she really wants to do this - we are SOOOO lucky! :j

If the weather is good over the weekend, might do another nappy wash so I can hang them out on the line.

Need to speak to our student who's staying with us to see when she wants to leave, we are really going to miss her money but at the same time it'll be nice to have the house back to ourselves so mixed feelings about that.

Might get a few bits for the hospital bag.

Thinks that's it for now - will pop on later x

Fantastic to have such a generous family with the baby items. I bet that is a huge help :)

Good luck with the overpayment. I get paid on thursday so after paying any food for the next week i will then know what we can overpay. Not going to be too good this month but even if it is only £30 it all helps.

I hope you are well x

  • Thanks LK - It is a HUGE help and such a relief to know that the major stuff has been bought but if we need something there is some set aside. We haven't gone mad because we don't really know exactly what we'll need and as well as money saving - we just don't have the space for loads of stuff.

I think we're going to have a worse month this month too but you're right every little helps so I'll have to do some sums when OH gets paid and see what we can manage. Am really pleased that I have hit at least this months target though :D

I can't remember when you're getting married - is it next year? Soooooo exciting!

All good here. Hope you are well too. x
