Thanks everyone :A
Well not really feeling any better yet but wanted to come on and update you all. I think I had mentioned that whenever we seem to be heading in the right direction with our finances something happens with OH's job... well it's happened again. I am so upset, it's not a good time at all and usually I bounce straight back but because the baby is imminent I'm just so concerned about what we're going to do, I leave work in 4 weeks so won't be having much money coming in - it won't even cover the mortgage - let alone anything else! OH started the job 3 months ago, it's a weird situation but he sort of works (worked) for 2 companies, one of the companies says he hasn't hit his target but the company he actually works on site for have been making him do 2 manager roles - so I think he's done amazingly well considering! There seems to be no negotiating it with them though and he's now out of work once again. He has to give his car back tomorrow so currently we'll have no car (as mine still not fixed).
He'll obviously have to sign on again which he hates and we'll look into any other help we can get but it's so demoralising and it also means we'll be way off track with the debt busting which I really thought I had sorted for once. I also feel so bad for him as he really loved the job and the place he worked! He's such a good person and a hard worker, he really doesn't deserve this.
Usually I'm straight onto an action plan but I feel so down at the moment I can't quite manage it yet, there's only so many knocks a couple can take - I'm sure I'll slowly start to bounce back and as soon as I have anything to report I'll come back and update again.
Thanks for the kind words. xMe, DH and DD (17 months) clearing our debt for a better future. I'm sorry for the bad news
If you need anyone to talk to, I'm sure there are plenty of offers here. I cant imagine what you're going through, but hope it will sort itself out soon enough. Look not mournfully into the past, it comes not back again. Wisely improve the present, it is thine. Go forth to meet the shadowy future without fear and with a manly heart.Adam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

Thanks for all your replies and best wishes. I am starting to feel slightly better although still have that horrible niggly feeling where you wish with all your heart that time would rewind and that bad news never came
Had a pretty bad week altogether really so am hoping that's it for now:
1) Car went into garage for repair costing £235
2) Car came out of the garage and found a nail in the tyre which cost £45 for a new one
3) Our student gave her weeks notice (we thought she was staying a couple more weeks) so leaves tomorrow, no more rent from the room
4) An Ebayer wasn't happy with an item he received so is returning it and I'll have to refund
5) OH lost his job and therefore car
6) A good friend we'd asked to be Godparent - who accepted - has now changed her mind, am sitting here wondering if anyone has ever had a christening without Godparents as not sure who else to ask
I think that's plenty for us in one week.
Despite that we've made a few decisions and I think it's lifted us both a little bit. We should have 2 more months where we get normalish money coming in (June and July as OH is owed commision some of which will come in July). Have decided we can't go on like this all the time on the job front and are going to give setting up a business for OH a go. He will do pretty much what he has been doing but just for himself and can start on a very small scale to begin with to see if there is any chance it willl work. I'm going to set him some small targets as I know the direction we need to be heading in money wise and I think it will help him feel that we're in it together rather than being something daunting he's trying to sort out alone. Fingers crossed it works as it's a bit of a gamble and a bit scary, I do however think it's now or never.
When we first got the news my debt busting bubble was burst and I did think what is the point of carrying on with the diary. But sometimes things get thrown at you which you have to overcome as best you can so hopefully by staying with it, we will still get there - eventually.
So a bit of a twist on the progress but I'll try and keep you updated as best I can.Me, DH and DD (17 months) clearing our debt for a better future. So glad to hear you have a plan!! These things are sent to try us! Good luck with the business for DH hope it all goes to plan. My DH hates his job and would love to go self employed but we just couldnt risk it at the moe as there isnt lots of work in his job....
I feel the same about the christening - I have one good friend who is dd1s godmother and would love her to be the other kids godmother aswell but she has been traverling and now is getting a perminate visa in Australia so is never hear for a christening....and there is nobody else i would want!!
