As for "because you run a company to make money".. true... but you also run a company to get a good reputation for that company... Well, at least some company's are run that way...

Tesco's dont care about their customers. They care about profit. It works but people dislike them.

Ryanair don't care about their customers, they also care about just giving them the product and going "this is what you pay for..."...

Apple are just another one of the above..

So yes I'll buy their product like I'll fly with Ryanair or shop at Tesco, but I can still dislike their philosophy and some of their decisions...

Equally, a car manufacturer would still want car experts to rate not only the outside as amazing but the inside too...

Is that why Fortune magazine named Apple the most admired company in the world for the third year running, and they have the highest customer satisfaction of any computer manufacturer?

Made by the same people who make the o2 joggler I believe. Looks quite smart (even better than the ipad imo) and has an impressive amount of features for the price (and yes, it has flash support)
The only respect it isn't as good as the ipad, is the resolution, but it makes up for it in other ways, such as camera, flash support, built in 3g, wifi n and performance. Apparently costs less than £150 to make, so would imagine price wouldn't be much more than that.

I can think of quite a few reasons the iPad is better than the OpenTablet.

HTML5 supports video simply by adding a video tag, similar to the existing img src tag for pictures - literally

That's all it does. It does not provide any kind of programming or encoding support - it's a markup language, not a programming runtime. To suggest that flash games could be converted to html 5 is utterly ridiculous. Please don't post such nonsense when you clearly don't have the most basic of clues about what you are talking about.

Apple turning around and giving one of the reasons not to have flash as "its closed" makes Apple a brunch of hypocrites. Flash wont run on the iPad because its closed, did they not see the irony?

No - They got successful via the iPod... they would no longer exist if it wasn't for that little device.

The point of that device was that there was pretty much a very basic OS on simply for music...!

So now they've expanded and released new things, they're still damaging their old reputation.

Believe me, Apples reputation is NOT as good as it was during the iPod only days And stuff your financial awards LOL!

You simply can't use financial awards to prove apple an argument related to a specific product or device. I'm talking about issues using the iPad and you come up with a typical apple fan boy response! "Look at their amazing figures.. Apple are perfect *druels*"

Apple are far from perfect. Yes their devices are great, but you are deluded if you think Flash should not be an option on that iPad. Apple may have technical reasons, but the rest of the technical world go "lol".

And don't try and tell me Jobs is more intelligent than none apple teccies. Just dont.

Of course you can, but the links you posted are all running on Javascript, not HTML5.

Javascript is a scripting language which allows programming, unlike HTML which is a markup language. In fact only two of the links you posted even use HTML5 at all (that is, to display the webpage, not to run the game) - the rest are on XHTML or standard HTML4 and will work fine in a non-html5 browser. HTML5 is not going to increase the number or complexity of browser-based games available, it can't because it is a markup language not a programming language.

Again, you don't know what you are talking about. Stop digging.

I assume the other manufacturers will jump on the bandwagon of an Ipad sized device.

Any news on alternatives yet, I did see something about a Dell Mini 5, a few weeks back but havent heard any more.

There's been loads haha, where you been?

The WeTab looks like the best alternative. HP also seem to have quite a good one.

Will give it a couple of months and make the plunge, I wont be able to resist a new bit of gadge to play around with.
