How can you say the opinions of the tech world are irrelevant?! That's like making a car and saying "We don't care what car experts say about are car, we just care if people buy it! LOL!
That really is silly...
And I'd love to shop elsewhere on the iPhone but OH WAIT, Apple will ONLY allow apps to be installed from the App Store. And that's my point... I have no choice... If i want the functionality of the iPhone I HAVE to use their own app store.. I don't like that, but I like the features the iPhone gives me.. so I buy it and then moan like most people
Once again, my arguments and issues with Apple aren't uncommon - They're shared by pretty much every none-apple fanboy geek (pretty much...)... And though the average joe end user doesnt care, I'm not an average joe end user. Let me enable flash to watch bbc iplayer with an option hidden in the settings somewhere.. Why make it a problem for me just because they dont want none technical users not using flash...?
Out of interest do you work for Apple? Honestly interested
Finally, I love the MacBooks but just not the price. Dell top of the range (good component) laptops are still outperforming the Mac's by a long way on the price-to-price comparison... And unfortunately I'm simply not made of money like most of us.. Mac's are still a bit niiche until the prices become more competitive in a home market...
Though I do like the look and feel of ALL Apple products...[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Because you run a company to make money. You make money by making products people want to use.
It's quite simple really. And I'd love to shop elsewhere on the iPhone but OH WAIT, Apple will ONLY allow apps to be installed from the App Store. And that's my point... I have no choice... Well that's the thing: no one forced you to buy an iPhone.
Apple didn't, I didn't; the only person who had a say in the decision was you.Once again, my arguments and issues with Apple aren't uncommon - They're shared by pretty much every none-apple fanboy geek (pretty much...)... But why would Apple want to please a tiny minority of its potential customers, instead of pleasing the vast majority?Out of interest do you work for Apple? Honestly interested
I don't work for Apple, but I'm hoping to in the near future.
And if I successfully land my dream job, the opinions I express on here will be my own, not Apple's.0 -

There is nothing wrong with a company making a bad but popular product. What is wrong is the people buying it.:)0 -

You mis-understood.. I wanted the product (the iphone itself), but I didn't want the locks and restrictions in place including the appstore. Though I had to live with that if I wanted the device itself.. Which is ashame. I still spent the money yes so Apple can be happy, but that doesn't justify their reason to not do other things....
As for "because you run a company to make money".. true... but you also run a company to get a good reputation for that company... Well, at least some company's are run that way...
Tesco's dont care about their customers. They care about profit. It works but people dislike them.
Ryanair don't care about their customers, they also care about just giving them the product and going "this is what you pay for..."...
Apple are just another one of the above..
So yes I'll buy their product like I'll fly with Ryanair or shop at Tesco, but I can still dislike their philosophy and some of their decisions...
Equally, a car manufacturer would still want car experts to rate not only the outside as amazing but the inside too...[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Actually, Apple don't want it to run Flash because:
1. Flash is proprietary
2. Flash has one of the worst security records
3. Flash is the number one reason Macs crash
4. Flash has terrible performance on mobile devices
5. Flash drains the battery life twice as fast as hardware decoded h.264 video
6. Flash was designed to be used with a mouse pointer, not with a touch UI
7. Freedom from !!!!!!, lol

1. Free flash games and apps would decimate Apple's revenue from the the App Store.
Not even mac fanboys, however used they are to paying over the odds for inferior products, would keep paying £4.99 for the latest iFart 'game' when they could get the likes of Miniclip and Kongregate for free.
It's all about money. It always is.poppy100 -
It's all about money. It always is.
Exactly.. Which is also why there was no much anticipated web cam in the device. Bet you there will be in 2 years or something...
It drives me bonkers that its "ALL" about money, but at the same time, they're bloody good and I hate myself loving them ^-^[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I certainly don't, i had my hands on one a few days after launch, pics are on here somewhere and to me its a giant gimick
it offers nothing my iphone and netbook cant do 100 times better
the iphone fits in my pocket and my netbook is the same size and weight, has a full keyboard, runs W7 and will run just about any app incl COD4 quite happily
The ipad is just to big and heavy and too gimped with its phone OS to be of use to me
However the rumours of a mini ipad could change all this0 -
If I had a gun to my head and was told I had to buy a tablet (only way i probably would buy one
) I would go for one of these.
http://www.openpeak.com/
Made by the same people who make the o2 joggler I believe. Looks quite smart (even better than the ipad imo) and has an impressive amount of features for the price (and yes, it has flash support)
The only respect it isn't as good as the ipad, is the resolution, but it makes up for it in other ways, such as camera, flash support, built in 3g, wifi n and performance. Apparently costs less than £150 to make, so would imagine price wouldn't be much more than that.0 -
I was very tempted by the WeTab (formely WePad before a rumoured Apple forced them to change their name hahaha)
It looks amazing but I couldn't wait ^-^[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
