They certainly wouldn't be below Scottish Power Fixed Energy 2009 on that page, my friend :p
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • Quentin what is your problem, why are you so rude negative and cynical?

Give us a reference where we might find TC+ on a utilities comparison site, can you?

Is that not the gist of the question ?

How was I rude? I helped the poster who wrongly was under the impression they aren't included on comparison sites.

As this wasn't rude, (or negative or cynical), I cannot answer your first question.

And as you actually work in the utilities field as a TC+ rep, who goes door to door selling your wares, you undoubtedly already know the answer to your second question yourself.

So now who is really the cynical one in this exchange?

And as far as your third question is concerned, as the poster who brought up this topic never actually asked a question, there was no "gist" of one for me to address at all!

My friend has just told me that she tried to switch from Scottish Gas to Scottish Power after S P explained to her how much she would save, a lot, and she got a final bill today from Scottish Gas with charges. She phoned to find out what they were, it is a new charge they are giving if people want to switch, its £100 if you have duel fuel. She said she was not advised of this b4, they tried to tell her she was under a new contract when she "capped" her fuel a while ago, even though it was them who phoned her to get her to "cap", and they capped her on the highest tariff. I think this is outrageous, it is mocking our freedom to Switch. It really upset my friend and needless to say she now has to stay with Scottish/British Gas as she cant pay that charge. The plus side is that because she went mental with them they gave her a £50 credit and put her on a lower Tariff, but thats not the point, can they charge people who have been with them for many years, if they want to switch?

yOU CAN FIX RATE YOUR ENERGY SUPPLY FOR BOTH GAS & ELECTRICITY WITH EDF ENERGY CALLED ANNUAL VERSION FIXED, WHICH WORKS OUT EVEN CHEAPER THAN THE STANDARD RATE THEY CHARGE NOW, ONLY COMMITMENT IS IF YOU CANCEL AFTER THE 1ST YEAR THERE IS AN A PENALTY, BUT IF PRICES FALL AFTER THE YEAR THEY WILL JUST REVERT YOU TO THE OTHER RATE.

No it is not. Of course they can.

I don't understand this request. Look on any comparison site and they will be listed. If you can't see them, either click 'see next 10 [more expensive] results' several times or click 'see all results' and space-bar down several screenfuls.

Can you 'give us a reference' where we might not find them?
  • No gas where I live, have to use heating oil :(:(:(

However, I do use electricity, and a few years ago switched from YE to Scottish Power because they were cheaper for me at the time. They also had a very handy graphical consumption chart on the web.

They've since 'upgraded' the website and don't show consumption any more (not that I can find!)

At the suggestion of Martin's newsletter today, I checked via Uswitch.com (free case of wine!) and found that NPower can offer me a forecast saving of £171, ie 30% less than the robbing beggars at Scottish Power are currently charging me!
I'll raise a glass to that!
  • My granddaughter is in a dilemma and needs advice.
Two weeks ago she switched from British Gas to NPower to a fixed rate until May 2013 on Duel Fuel. She has Economy 7 for heating the water at night by immersion and Gas for radiators only.
Yesterday her landlord said they are changing the heating to Haverland new generation electric wall heaters. This means she will have electric wall heaters on the higher daily electric rate and immersion on the lower Economy 7. There will be no gas.
So, what should she do as the Gas has a standing charge of 59p per day, the electric is higher while the heaters are being used but cheaper when the water is heated at night.
We have already missed the option of cancelling the contract as it has been 16 days since switching.
    Urgent advise please.
