Why not try ukpower as they are updated very quickly and have a price updates page which show which rises have be incorporated.

  • Walneyite,

As per my earlier post (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3091322&postcount=89) the new EnergyWatch accreditation only requires comparison sites to use accurate tarriffs within two days of them coming into effect. So you can expect to see this more often.
  • Does anybody know a way to find cheap supplies of bottled gas?

I have investigated all of the alternatives, and none of them are available to me. So, I am stuck with bottles and have tried ringing all of the local suppliers that I can find in the phone book but they all seem to be tied to a similar price. (I believe that British Gas are the only wholesalers - am I wrong?).

    Many thanks:confused:

Please make people aware that although a lot of over 60's might benefit from Staywarm a lot, like my friends and I could be worse off. My husband and I live in a 3 bedroomed detached house and it would have been a LOT cheaper for us to have been on the Company's Standard Tarrif rather than Staywarm. It took a while to discover that we were overpaying for the fuel we used but not once did anyone from the company advise us to change Tarrif. Not once, after being several years with Staywarm did we receive a Bill or details of how much fuel we were using which made it difficult to check our costs. If you over use they soon change your Tarrif but if you under use they just say 'Thank you very much'. I would definitely BE VERY CAREFUL OF STAYWARM
We are with Staywarm in a large 2 bedroomed bungalow with double glazing and insulated walls. We have not had a details of ouir uisage ever from them. The payment started at £42.00 p.m and rose to £68.00 p.m..Now they want to put it up to £160+ p.m.No recomendations to change the tarrif.I am going to find oit our usage and investigate through Uswitch.

  • Hey there,

Myself and my partner are just in the process of buying our first home, our question is: who do we set our gas and electricity up with? We've never owned a house and have no idea how much the bill will be, and how to find the best deal as we have no usage to compare prices. Any help please?

A switch to Powergen from British Gas using UK Power took 4 months. Not impressed by UK Power at all.

When I switch, I use these comparison site for information only, and the ukpower site is kept up to date. I then deal with whoever I want to switch to directly, as I'm not interested in a bottle of champaign or £15 cashback, which is insignificant when compared to my annual energy bill!
