As you say, I am recounting my experiences, and the experience of others - birds of a feather flock together and all that. If you wish to try and balance my experience by bringing your own experiences (not aims, wishes, or objectives, but things that have actually happened) then that will certainly move the discussion on. If you can't do that, and so aim to shoot the messenger by labelling them as "patronising" and "narrow" (I presume minded), then that too moves the discussion on - just in a different direction.
I am entitled to express an opinion when you describe my profession as a group of people who only like those children who "fake hard work" and more vocal - I hardly call that moving a discussion on, surely there our opinions are on the same level?
No, it does not. But I'm more interested in outcomes, as you may have gathered. Do you challenge *all* students? Or are some just beyond the rest of the class and you don't have the time to treat them individually?
And are they? Aims are lovely and can be anything - outcomes are only what they are.
Another example of you being patronising. As it the "outcomes" are the pupils feed back forms and the conversations I have with pupils and parents. Although no doubt this will be dismissed as anecdotal and not as valuable as statistics.
And do you succeed? With everyone?
Of course not, but I never said that I did, hence the "aim" fluffy, tho you find it I wouldn't be arrogant enough to assume a 100% sucess rate.
It's not called magic, it's called talent. Some people can sit down and draw anything, and it looks like what it's supposed to be. And to be fair, it looks superb. I'd love to do that, but I can't, and no amount of teaching will change that. I can sit down and draw something and you'll know what it is, because I'll put a title on it. I don't look at those artists and see magic. I look at them and see talent..
Oh I am sorry, did I make an off the cuff remark? Thanks for the correction.
In any case the talented can also be challenged. And no it won't happen every lesson to every child but it happens and often. And you suggested that pupils who were quiet and talented got over looked, that teacher are simply shallow enough to fall for the apparently bright loud child. I disagree. The way a lesson is designed now takes into account the different skills and talents of a class, that is why not just any one can walk in and a teach a lesson. It is a skill to get that sort of learning "out" of children who would rather sit at the back and not be noticed, just as much as it to get the child who can't write to be invovled in a literacy lesson.

No you just belittled my job. Which in my view is just as bad.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Sounds scary bookworm but liberating too if that makes sense?
You don't know how right you are beanie......after being housebound/bedridden for over a year, the chance to regain even a small level of mobility...just a few steps from bed to wheelchair to car etc.....would be nothing short of a miracle and for me it'd even beat winning the lottery! I just wish I could teleport the gp and consultant and his team who are caring for me now, because when I eventually get home I will be looking for a new gp and I have no faith in my local hospital in regard to my specific conditions. The local hospital is wonderful in other departments, oncology etc - can't fault them, but I guess I was unlucky in being seen by rent-a-moron!
Like I said to the consultant I have now, I'm damned if I'm going to sit here and wait to die, I want some of my life back, 18-20 months ago I was out working, had a social life......that all stopped completely and I still have something to give. I want to be part of my family instead of just on the edges of it...... maybe even do some work again..... yeah I have to keep the fighting spirit fighting hard lolololbookworm86570 -
Am going to be sad and talk about my flat's colour scheme....each room has different colours. Bedroom is pale so I went for green (green lamp, green and cream bedlinen, light furniture) looks good. Wanted to make the living room look bigger so I've got white (bookcases, coffee table, TV table, sofa throw) and the cushions are funky patterned IKEA ones
And the bedroom is light tiled so went for black....black towel, black flannel, black floor mat

Back from shops - did a pile of returns so only spent £4 on £25 of shopping (although obviously had spent the other £20 earlier
).
Buffy - I would defend my profession too, but I know some people in it are not what I wish they were. Perhaps ZTD's experiences are not of teachers who put as much in as you do? You put in so much effort with marking at weekends etc, that no-one could doubt how much work it is to teach, and your genuine commitment to it.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Yes katsu I think you're right. I blame the NINE hours I spent unpacking and putting flatpacks together for addling my brain.
Second bedroom also has a bath and shower and a loo, so I think it's a bathroom** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
