It always did do. Teachers much prefer children who make an effort (even if faked), to those that can do things easily. Quality of output is only a passing concern.

Z please don't generalise about teachers, I especially would strongly disagree with the last part.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

bookworm - You start with do I need it and can I afford it, then how do I get it cheaper? ;):D With a smaller house you will need to be more strict on carp acquisitions. ;)

Budget your space. Assign a monetary "rent" to an object's "footprint". If a dolly with a toilet roll shoved where the sun don't shine costs £20 p.a. in rent, do you really want it... ;)

And which children get the attention?

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. It may unfair from a number of angles, but it is the way of it.

  • Evening everyone,

Claire - welcome back. How was Newquay and more importantly the surfers? ;););) Also the bathroom is stunning.

I'd love a baby one day - but living in a two bed apartment with rubbish sound proofing isn't idea. And moving isn't an option unless we can get a rather large deposit. Here's hoping I get soemthing in teh Euromillions?

Sammy - that's how I got my radley bags from Charity shops! Why giv them away?

That may have been your experience.

In any case that is not what you said first, as I understood you made it sound as if teachers only like a certain type of child and the end result was not important.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Though the soundproofing is more the neighbours' concern... ;)

I think it is still sinking in:D Now I am off out under the weight of things to return to Mr S. I've looked online and my local store closes at 23.59 so I have no excuse not to pop out and do my returns. I have lost the receipts so will have to hope they are not reduced to £1 or something.
