It should fit on one CD

most pound shops sell a blister pack with every type of usb connector inside.

Bluetooth isn't really much use for connecting pc's together, you can setup file sharing using a router if you want to transfer from a to b

I've got a wireless router which I am hoping to connect the two together, I also want to be able to run the laptop in another room using my internet connection via the router - Orange Livebox - but I don't know if the laptop has wi-fi. I also bought an O2 dongle which says can connect to my own internet connection when I'm at home, but I can't get that to plug in properly to the USB connector on the laptop, it doesn't go into the connection enough. An ordinary USB cable plugs in ok, so don't know why the dongle doesn't. I was going to take it to an O2 shop, see if they can help with that.

This download is taking an age, its still got nearly two hours to go. Will it fit on one disc or will it take several?

Its a DVD RW I am going to burn it onto.

There is no such thing as a blank CD-R Audio disc. As far as I know a CD-R is a CD-R, suitable for both Audio and Data.

It should have a built in wireless card, specified as 802.11b. If it doesn't work you can buy a Wireless USB Adapter for £5.90 or a PCMCIA Card from £9.

I'm sure I have a box full of cd-r's but I can't find them. I have a box of Sony discs in front of me, they say CD-R for music use.

thanks for the advice about the wireless adapter, I know you can get them, but I thought they would be a lot more expensive than that.

I've just looked at the link for the wireless adapter, it looks like the O2 Dongle I've got, but for some reason, it doesn't fit down into the USB plug as far as it should, yet the USB fitting on the cables I have, which look the same, fit ok.

I'm sure it says in the Dongle manual that it allows you to connect wirelessly, so probably wouldn't need the adapter.

The Sony disc will do fine. Just marketing. If you get a PCMCIA card you be able to keep the USB slots free for other usage.

I know that I have an adapter that you can plug up to 4 USB plugs into one socket. I can't find it at the moment, but that will probably solve my problem of not being able to plug the Dongle in - well hopefully anyway!!

Its done 70% of the download now.

Hope it doesn't take as long to burn it to disc and install it - can't wait until morning to find out if it works!! - no patience!!
