You did agree. Whether you chose to READ what you agreed TO is the problem.
  • The way I canceled my TMTI was canceled the DD with my bank, I phoned the TMTI guy's up to cancel it on their side & was told it was already canceled, because I done it through my bank, the number I used was +44 (0) 844 499 4744
  • I will be reporting this so called company to Citizens Advice Bureau... it's scam in purest form... charging money for nothing and asking all the 'customers' to phone premium numbers...

Of course they won't - they'll make soothing noises, but at the end of the day, you should have declined their (initially free) service at the outset, and kept a close eye on your DD's.

Since you did neither, any fault/blame lies with you - so 'reporting' this to CAB will no nothing useful. Learn and move on!

unfortunately you r right... as i just read an email from buymobiles.net again they did in fact inform me about this 'great' service... thing is when I was using the same site in august 2013 there was no such a thing as 'tmti gadget helpline'... it stilll doesnt change a fact that this so called company didn't bother to send a paper version of agreement or anything... instead they only sent one email that looked exactly like hundreds other spam emails you receive everyday... so gonna be calling them tomorrow... I mean really? paying £4 a month and than calling premium number to get an answer I can simply just google... it just doesn't seems right...

You should have seen it at the point of sale, regardless of subsequent emails or anything else. It's clearly part of the order and if you read it and printed it out at the point of sale (standard practice) you'd see that too!

I recently bought a contract phone from e2save and was caught out by this 'scam'....

They didn't make it clear during checkout I was signing up for a one month free trial that would be billed for six months at the end of the trial.

They didn't send me an email when the account was setup making it clear I was had a one month free trial and I would be billed for six months at the end of the trial.

It didn't take me 30 seconds to Google how to cancel the helpline, and complete the cancellation form https://secure.tmti.net/vip/default.asp

And I'm not being sarcastic in the slightest about the 'scam'

Regardless of not reading the t&cs, companies should not be able to add anything to your shopping basket automatically, or expect customers to opt out of anything.

Its borderline illegal, certainly unethical, and it should be banned.
  • well I was talking to that so called company today... canceled my account, when asked about a refund - no surprises there, no refund offered, they claimed they don't have anyone working there being responsible for refunds ;) gonna try my luck with indemnity claim with my bank...
