Then you're really very, very stupid.

What else could Clegg have done? Labour wasn't serious about a deal, moreover their MPs opposed it. Should Clegg refuse a chance of government, Lib Dem policies on the agenda and electoral reform, albeit only moderate? The Tories offered him a good deal and he took it - I would have done the same.

Ummmm. Well that's all well and good but presumably come a referendum on voting reform Clegg and his mates will be looking for my vote - well he won't get it this time. I will vote against change to spite the Lib Dems.

However, you are dead right - I am stupid. Stupid to have wasted my vote on the Lib Dems.

the joint policy doc seems pretty good to me. which bits dont you agree with? I guess my politics lie between tory and libdem, so it feels ok to me. In fact, the bits of libdem policy I didnt like got cut anyway (nuclear power etc).

tories were always likely to have more seats, but theres a stack of libdem people in there to shape policy. it will take 1 full term to salvage the economy. I dont see a better solution than the one they got.

Interesting point. If all the pi!!ed off Labour Voters vote no, and all the Conservatives vote no - the Lib Dems will actually be left having done a deal with the Conservatives for nothing.

As someone who is normally bearish and negative this should go down on MSE as my first really positive, feeling hopeful of the future post.

Thought I'd quote this for future reference. I know how people like to dig up old posts and have a laugh....... I'm sure this will provide many future chuckles;)

I vote Labour always. I won't vote for change in the voting system (no matter what its merits are) just to spite the Lib Dems.

I don't like the way Clegg has treated Labour and he's not getting my vote. More Lib Dems in Parliament - why would I vote for that?

I stupidly believed the Lib Dems would not compromise on electoral reform and voted for them on this issue alone.

Grassroots groups are much more sincere and I would urge anyone who is concerned that most of us don't actually have a vote under the current system to have a look at the 'take back parliament' website to do what they can now before the politicians stop even pretending they are listening to us for another 5 years.

we have handed the keys of Parliament over for another 4 years minimum--a vote for Libdem is a vote for conservatism--there are only 2 real parties left and one of them is in opposition -the libdems have gone down a route that they cannot back out of now--they either stick with the conservatives or they no longer exist--do you think the rank and file libdems out on the streets realised they would be sold down the river by the Parliamentary party--

I voted LD as an anti Brown vote - have voted LD in European and local elections before but generally Labour in General Elections.

    Now?

NEVER AGAIN - Will support the Greens when I can not feel I can vote Labour, but never the Lib Dems. The fact the part supported the coalition unanimously shows they are a party for sale to the highest bidder
